Dominions is a fantasy turn-based war game created by two dudes. One of them is a teacher.
The game combines a simple presentation with an extremely wide array of strategic options, including over 2800 units, 800 spells and 300 magic items. Turns are resolved simultaneously, with players planning battles rather than directly controlling them.
It has simplistic graphics but is easily moddable and extremely deep.
Basically, it's an autist’s wet dream of a war game.

>all my favorite nations don't get anything >except for one >Arco mystics >which lose all their magical paths once prophetised for some reason
Fucking illfraud.
Dylan Sanders
I think prophets keep their magic paths user.
However, if the prophet shape already has H3 they'll still just have that and not go to 4. Only really a thing with EA C'tis afaik.
Easton Wright
Prophet Shamans a best.
Jaxon Cruz
Again, they keep their paths, so no S/N boost. If you wanted to mod that in, you'd have to add a pathboost to the shape rather than put the paths on that form.
Austin Gutierrez
How did it die?
Kayden Brown
It got Sy'd.

Dominions 5 when??
James Howard

Daniel Reed
>tfw manipulated two different neighbors into giving you free provinces in exchange for warring the other Now I have to pick which one to actually attack, though.
Caleb Morales
>TC deathbasketed the one who killed them
That's funny, it must have gotten lost in the mail. Don't tell me the postman sent it to Ur's mailbox by mistake?
Jacob Long
so illfraud doesnt know how its own mechanic works
Alexander Powell
Wow, I sure didn't expect that was a thing.
Luke Miller
not for 5 more years
Wyatt Martin
Well they dont know how fear works so its not strange they dont know how other shit works.
Landon Powell
At least we got to know that high intake of cocaine can cause memory loss.
Owen Rodriguez
Ignore him. He's talking shit. This is trivially testable.
Nathaniel Reed
Nigga, I've been prophetizing them for years. Getting a FREE thistle mace and moonvine braclet is fucking god tier.
Jaxon Nelson
...
Jackson Reyes
If by real fun you mean birbos snowballing uncontested, then yeah, here we go.
And if you thought those Melqart raids were garbage, you haven't seen anything yet.
Isaac Thomas
>last to submit a turn >doesn't submit a double turn >for like a dozen turns in a row Can we get a sub for Hinnom?
Joshua Foster
>Evocation Bonus 20 What does this mean?
Samuel Taylor
Oh, you know what? I found out what's going on. Summod makes it so that prophetizing actually adds those as a pathpoost. In vanilla, it's still S1N1. Guess you've been playing with summod for years
Leo Murphy
Indie Shamen don't have Prophetshapes.
Jonathan Rodriguez
sleep tite pupper
Juan Flores
That's not an indy, retard.
If it kept the paths that the prophet's base form says it has, it'd be S2N3 rather than S2N2.
Levi Wood
You guys are all retarded.
Austin Johnson
20% gem discount on all Evocation rituals cast in a lab in that province.
Justin Reed
because we actually verified how it works instead of talking out of our ass and being wrong?
Daniel Butler
y-you too
Hunter Ramirez
So in other words, not that useful aside from boosting a few globals.
Jonathan Richardson
...
Oliver Johnson
Fuck you
Asher Scott

Kayden Edwards
We're still getting patches for Dom4, so Dom5 is clearly not yet in development. His estimate is reasonable.
Jackson Rivera
how about a game of dominions 4 thrones of ascension
massive overkill. you should invade arco and birds, and also pump pd in other border province and invade elf
Mason Cruz
obligatory Ulm sent
Henry Hernandez
Joined as Bogurus. 50/50 chance that I kill more of my own mages through mismanaging communions than any enemy actually does.
Isaiah Bell
Hello Nick. Let's hope that won't happen, we're rooting for you.
Logan Bailey
Why do Boulder Thrower boulders and Siege Golem fists and things like that not have AoE 1? Sum1wun please fix this massive oversight.
Connor Evans
If you want something that can awake expand and also summon vamp counts, consider pic related. I'm not totally sure on the scales yet, but I was going to use something like it
Landon Lopez
and then this one I hadn't actually tested, but it should work okay since E4B1 worked fine for expanding when I tried it out for Abysia
Benjamin Gonzalez
I'm the one who mentioned MA Atlantis a while back. I'll finally submit for FrogAndToad. I think I can make this work.
And while I'm posting, YIAMAG admin can you please set Marignon to AI. He's clearly abandoned the game after realizing how woefully bad his expansion turned out and is going to be eaten by China within 5 turns anyway. I don't want to have to wait an extra week for this to happen.
Josiah Campbell
Did the Summod changes to LA Man do anything decent? I like the nation normally and improved magisters and judges sound like a good idea.
Isaiah Martin
Judging by you doing your turn without contacting me, I'll assume you don't actually care about having eyes of god then white.
Maybe I'll use my pearls to cast it myself and become the superior journalist.
Angel Carter
do it then, punk
Dominic Fisher
I'm thinking about using pic related (spoilered in hopes other players ingame obey some kind of etiquette and dont adjust strats accordingly) instead of a Vampire Queen In general I like to have Fortune 3 as LA Ulm because the Blood Marshall hero is great and if you pick him up in the 1st-2nd year he clears indies nicely
only other thing is "do I go turm 3 or not"; in the past I've not really felt any major ill effects from it but at the same time it's a significant income hit until fortune 3 kicks in and starts dropping you 1k gold bonus events
Cooper Jenkins
>nick bullying people for no trading with them
kek
Landon Martin
Holy fuck setting up testing conditions sucks so much ass.
Dom5 needs only 3 things: Built in inspector/game modifier allowing you to set up specific battles Spell exclusion in scripting Mages cast the same spell at the same time in combat
Figuring out how Fear works is an option as well.
Lincoln Jones
I think spell exclusion would make mages too good. They're already game defining.
Gabriel Stewart
Don't forgot the second recruitment cue for non-mage commanders.
Colton Torres
>Turmoil 3 on a blood nation Does that raise the negative impact of blood hunting?
Liam Powell
...
Andrew Hill
This would ruin the game imo
the charm of dominions is the clusterfuck of nothing quite working perfectly
once you turn it into objective esportzz rock paper scissors countering through hours of inspector powergaming battles it would get pretty ugly
Ethan Campbell
yes but you either just patrol harder or not at all; the penalty to a hunt for high unrest doesn't really matter when you can send as many hunters as LA Ulm can and the requirement for more patrollers isn't an issue to a nation that happily recruits 20 fieldable stealth crossbowmen a turn per fort
so it's a non-issue really
Austin Flores
>the charm of dominions is the clusterfuck of nothing quite working perfectly fucking this
Evan Myers
Means you get less dominion based unrest reduction, meaning you need more patrollers and they kill more pop through patrolling (since there's more unrest.)
That's not ideal, but LA Ulm counts automatically generate free chaff patrollers just by existing, so it's less of a big deal for them than, say, Abysia, which needs to recruit or summon it's patrol chaff.
Hudson Rogers
It raises unrest slightly. It's not optimal, but people overvalue it.
Ian Brown
Oh yes, absolutely.
Maybe. I just want to have a bit of input past turn 5. Not full scripting for 50 turns or anything like that.
Yeah, but you can already do that. It just takes much longer than it needs to. I don't need to get every variable exactly the way it's going to happen in a future battle. I just want to get a rough idea of battles I haven't fought before and don't have a good idea of.
I kind of agree with you, although largely in part because 1) I'd be too lazy to check OR 2) I'd feel compelled to check a bunch or to be left in ignorance, and neither are fun and 3) The game has a bunch of dice rolling underneath, fuzzying stuff a bit. Especially because the RNG is shit.
David Cook
No no no
It needs DYNAMIC TERRAIN
I want to be able to scout provinces, look at the battle map with more interesting terrain features, and then determine where to put all my dudes based on that information.
Maybe even include magic sites on the battlemap.
Christopher James
>Built in inspector/game modifier allowing you to set up specific battles Doesn't need that. >Spell exclusion in scripting I wouldn't complain, but not strictly necessary. It should definitely be limited, or you'd just exclude every spell except the one you want them to spam. >Mages cast the same spell at the same time in combat What, you mean just to make the replays faster? It would be okay I guess but it should definitely be an option you can disable. Not something I'd consider necessary.
>I want to have to rescript everything for each fight Fuck that.
Kevin Murphy
>you'd just exclude every spell except the one you want them to spam ...and what's the problem with that?
>What, you mean just to make the replays faster? Probably to remove defensive advantage.
Mason Thompson
The problems with that are And defensive advantage isn't a bad thing.
Luis Hernandez
>Doesn't need that. It also doesn't need graphics or a user interface. It would move acceptable testing out of the hands of those with enough autism and time to use the tools we already have to do the exact same thing.
>What, you mean just to make the replays faster? Yes, but also much cooler looking.
