>thrumbo self-tamed

So what's the difference between medieval mayhem and Intense/Extreme exactly?

The amount of pain.

Anyone? :(

Thrumbo is for cuddles.Thrumbo porn WHEN.

but which is more?

Nigga what the fuck.

So you can launch your caravans in pods to get there quickly, but is there any way to make the road back home easier?

I am doing this as the layout for the mess hall, however I just realized I have tiny fridges (1x1, 1x2) from some mod, would it be a good idea to put the fridges right inside this room so people can take meals from them directly? Kitchen will be north, and the actual big fridge attached to it somewhere up there too. So maybe I should try to make room for little fridges with meals too?

Just put the fridges in the corner next to the wall. Furniture usually doesn't have a hole carved into the wall for them.

Sorry, I read your post as "make a room for fridges" for some reason. But yeah, just put them in there.

Will they know to take that shit from the fridges nearby? Because currently I have people taking raw corn that's just lying around in the garden instead of meals in a big fridge for some reason (maybe because it's closer to them?).

>Need advanced mechanisms for High teq bench
>Need high leveled metals I haven't researched yet
>Need a High teq bench to research said metals to create the advanced mechanisms
Quality Catch 22!

They prefer cooked meals even if it's further away, but if it's really far away they will eat from the fields.

Btw this piece of shit room despite the spartan look to it is actually "extremely impressive", apparently mostly due to the masterwork marble fancy tables. Is this even normal? Wealth seems ridiculous.

Are you playing HCSK? Getting to the high tech tier is a massive undertaking, but possible.
You don't actually need nano metallurgy, you need the metals in thermodynamics which you can research with the initial research table. You can smelt them in the arc furnace and then make advanced mechanisms.

One problem is that the rare ore mine is actually locked behind the high tech bench, and you need Nickel for all of the alloys that can make adv mechanisms. So either pray that you have Nickel somewhere on your map (use the mineral radar to look inside hills), or you'll have to travel or trade for it.

Extraordinary shitposting my man worst I have ever seen.

gontinuoe

Quick:

Sniper rifle or survival rifle?

Assault rifle or charge rifle?

Oak or poplar?

Potato or rice?

Kill-box or Not-kill-box?

Those tables are badly balanced, thats why.
Just compare them to vanilla ones and you'll see.

>4 fancy tables cost 60 marble
>standart beauty is 19 for each of them

>1 vanilla marble table (short) cost 50 marble
>standart beauty is 14 for 1

why are most modders so awful at balancing?

So who do we butcher to save the colony?

What the fuck do you even do if a fire gets out of hand? Just let it burn everything down and start again? I hadn't had chance to replace early wood structures with stone and Randy thought it would be nice if all my conduits failed.

I always preferred assault rifles, but if I get a decent charge-rifle off a dead raider, I'm not going to go out of my way to replace it.

It's nice keeping a few good sniper rifles lying around on an equipment rack for if a raid comes with a doomsday launcher or something, but usually I just prefer multiple assault rifles. More bullets flying means more chance for hits. Even if they don't kill them, a shot to the arm or similar is going to impair their ability to shoot back severely.

Kill-box removes a lot of the fun, but it's definitely effective.

Grenade them if they're in the open. Build a fire-break out of flooring if not.

Grab a supply of emergeny food and move it away from the fire, then try to get enough components and other things clear. Like said, build firebreaks but don't go crazy sending people into burning buildings to try and fight fires, it's likely to get them killed. Worst case you lose most of your base and have to rebuild, but you can do so if you can save enough food to keep people alive.

I had a play through where a colonist had both lungs destroyed and I had to harvest a prisoner lung to keep them alive.

They got married. It was almost like a cheesy romance novel.

Does anyone know if increasing the rainfall increases any given biomes rain or if it just increases the chances of jungles?

It affects the days of rain.

I'm pretty sure there's an average rainfall in mm in the terrain tab so I assume any given biomes rain.

You could just start fires to spawn rain if you want it.

Have u ever heard of a rainy desert?
Idiot.

It creates more jungles, forests than desert biomes.

Yea I found out that some metals I could use was in another branch of the research tree. The tree is messy as hell understandable since oh of big this pack is. If what you're saying is true, God damn I don't like trying to find these rare minerals.

=== Sex Mod Release Update ===

I'm not done with all the polishing and testing before v1.0 but I've decided to just throw up what I have so far and call it v0.9. ETA: Later today. P-please look forward to it.

noice

You only really need one batch of nickel to make that high tech research desk.

Then you can make adv mines and just create whatever minerals you need. You have some mining spots on your map, right?

I'm waiting

>unhappy thought: my father has died
>realize her father was in the last raid
>check his name
>he was actually one of the survivors who became a prisoner
>I unknowingly made her harvest his organs

Finally got a good game rolling without those damn star vampires fucking my shit up also with less mechanoids, though I am going to miss those nice looking plasteel turrets.

I'm really going to have to deal with this at some point. The spooky ambient sound effect is getting old.

Surround it with IEDs, hold the door open and shoot it from a distance

I just don't have the steel to do anything.

>Implying he has the spare components and mortar shells

Just shoot it with a sniper squad.

Do survival rifles out range centipedes? I've just got guys with Survival rifles we've pried from raiders.

>Awoke 75.2 days ago
Is there even anything left on the map?

>animals are eating herbal medicine in the stockpile
Jesus christ, do I have to get the banned from everywhere? I'm starting to regret for ever trying to do anything with animals.

Actually just struck some when mining out more space for my storage, got my bench in the making right now.

I walled it up so the poison wouldn't spread.

Its a desert anyway, nothing lives here.

What's YOUR preferred way of removing no longer colonists?

I'm thinking of making my journey towards the AI ship and might sell them at bases along the way to avoid stacking penaltys for selling and to get more food.

p sure the poison bypasses walls

Walls do absolutely nothing.
Didn't you notice your hydroponics dying left and right?

Huh, that would explain some things.

Right after I've had to deal with sappers now this.

I know you're testing and all but is there any incompatibility with any mods specially the most downloaded ones? really excited for this one

The long hallways really helped me shoot them down before the bugs could get into melee.

Only Anna got injured after she opened up the first room.
Also they injured a pregnant cowgirl that wandered into my workshop.
Now I gotta clean this mess.

>News at 9, local /rwg/ player is a fucking idiot.
I kited them with a single survival rifle.

See there is nothing to be afraid. Except in later raids where you have to deal with a shit loads of scythers and mechanoids.

You gotta be squidding me.

You have cover literally everywhere, unless you're using pistols you're fine.
Unless they start shitting infernos. Then you're fucked.

Last one had three inferno's. I'm slightly spooked what might be in this one.

Trust in the gods, you might luck out and just get miniguns.
But seriously, buy some steel and IED mortar the damn thing.

The tree is so disappointing because you can't move it.

what mod

>Do survival rifles out range centipedes?
I think so, depending on what they've got equipped. Mini-gun centipedes are a pain though.

I don't think they outrange scythers, so be careful there.

If you make walls like 4 bricks thick, you might be able to cook them before they break out.

Just fill it with beds, ignite, and hope 2000C is enough to off them.

C'thulu or cult mod I forget. It's on the workshop.

so, is this game worth getting or is it just a dwarf fortress with better graphics, better UI and worse everything else like every other DF clone?

Hunting manually is so comfy. You clean half of the map, as haulers behind you are bringing home the meat by the tons.

>apostrophe
if you're being pedantic it's actually spelled [(k)M̝̊ʊlʔɬuː]

>is this game worth getting
pirate it and see if you like it. a lot of people here advocate mods, so try those out too

I played DF from 2010, played vanilla and lately masterwork. I ended up switching to Rimworld and I like it more now. The only downside is lack of Z levels, it's flat like old DF.
Combat more than makes up for it. You can actually control your units and utilize tactics (there is the concept of cover, plenty of weapon types, explosives and so on).

Crafting and production used to be fairly bare bones, but recently it got fleshed out and it stands up to DF in my opinion. And if you want more, there are lots of mods you can install, it probably has a more colorful modding community than DF. If you liked Masterwork's everything and the kitchen sink approach there's Hardcore SK which adds a ton of autism and a tech tree that can literally take a week in real life to complete and build everything. Of course there are hundreds of more lightweight mods that you can install one by one if you want to stay closer to the vanilla experience.

It's spelled my dick in your ass, faggot.

Do I need the Grill/BBQ mod at all if I have vegetable garden? It doesn't seem that the meals it produces are very valuable in comparison.

I would like to streamline my meal production into 3-4 different kinds and ignore everything else, but I'm not sure what's the best.

Also, the VG kitchen stuff looks so nice, but the default stove and butchering table look terrible in comparison, why the hell didn't they retexture that too?

thanks, I'll probably check it out

for the record though, masterwork is worse than aids, pointless bloat that adds nothing to the game. similar to every other mod that isn't dwarf therapist

Damn what does space do to cats

Nothing, have you not listened to /an/ go on rants about them?
It's quite funny.
Cats are genocide

Fair enough. You can also find small specialized mods you like and add them individually if you prefer a less bloated experience. Modding here is more like Elder Scrolls/Fallout modding where you add 50 smaller mods than DF modding where usually just use a single big one.

>no z-levels

Is there a way to assign armor and weapons to colonists, but have them put them away when they don't need them? I understand you can make uniforms, but then they'll just put them in general storage.

I want my swordsmen to equip their sword, armor and personal shield when battle calls, but not while they work.

>no depth and immersion

well fuckin done

>toady decided to go 3d 10 years ago
is rimworld man even trying?

Please consider suicide.

Toady decided to go full world building/adventure mode 5 years ago, then Rimworld caught up.
Maybe he should fucking add some content to fortress mode, it doesn't even have usable squad controls or catapults.

It's true. Even a cute, cuddly indoors housecat can turn into a flurry of claws and teeth if starved for long enough.

Fuck you.

Honestly all I really want right now is multicore support. FPS death in forts fucking kills me.

So I captured a guy a while ago and I kind of want to recruit him. The thing is, it's taking a while because he's really fucking pissed and has a 95% recruitment difficulty, and it just turned to winter.

I'm in a Boreal Forest. The guy showed up in nothing but some pants and a cap. He's already lost some shit to frostbite, and I really want to save him. How can I get him to equip a jacket?

=== The Sex Mod is LIVE ===

>69 kb

All I know for sure is that my mod is compatible with EPOE and INcompatible with Birds and the Bees by Fluffy. It shouldn't conflict with most other mods since it only overrides the core game in one place.

>Map full of boomashits
>Toxic fallout kicks in
>Two days later the entire map is like fucking Hiroshima

God help me, if I don't manage this well enough, this could be the end of my run.

>hydraulic vagina

You should add a BDSM-related breakdown that makes them tie up another colonist and drag them to their room for molestation, if such a thing is possible to code.

And other sex-crazed related breakdowns

doing gods work

>RAID
>Oh boy, defensive positions
>They take the long way around, and attack the barracks
>All the raiders beeline towards the room where my cat is sleeping
>Unleash the fury of god on poor Turbo

what the fuck is your problem Cassandra

>HCSK
>raid from Asari faction
>well, maybe the modder had some common sense...
>as soon as they get in line of sight they start spamming Mass Effect magic spells like area effect cover ignoring lightning strike
>passive energy shield, not even from equipment, and they can shoot out of them
>all of them have rifles that have range of sniper rifles
>WHO AM I KIDDING OF COURSE HE DIDN'T
>some fucking untalented garbage modder put in his fucking waifu race and made it overpowered
EVERY
FUCKING
TIME

This russian autist really needs to exercise some common sense in picking his mods.

Turbo is in pain but alive. The colony isn't what it used to be, but at leas the cat is alive

>tfw cat that I started with can't walk due to no legs
>his owner feeds and tends to him every day
>can't bring myself to kill him and end its suffering

You will give your cat robolegs, and it will walk again one day.

Yeah no, that colony is rip. If not from the next raid, the fact that your last survivor is going to have constant breakdowns.
