Probably. I mean almost all mainline SMT and Persona games get a rerelease at some point.

And as we saw in golden, the story being otherwise complete won't stop them from cramming more shit in anyway.

The only question is what they'll release it on and how soon.

If they have another PS4 release only a year later, they're either admitting the vanilla game wasn't ready but they released it anyway, or they're admitting they held off on stuff to make people buy it twice, both of which might piss people off.

Re-release seems the least likely out of anything right now. I can definitely see it happening in the future, but I don't think they would announce it so soon. And doesn't regular P5 has as much content as P4Golden? It's not exactly a game that's lacking in that regard, so I'd rather they give us DLC than ask that I buy the whole game twice within a short time frame.

Koromaru doesn't really count as he didn't talk or really have any story presence.

However Koromaru was good for filling a party member spot without needing much story presence, which was fine. He's there to to be your darkness user incase MC isn't currently filling that role, and that's all. Nothing wrong with that.

It's close but I think Golden still beats it out by a little. 5 has more text than Golden on account of demon negotations, but Golden has one more dungeon and another month and a half of gameplay plus more in game events. In fact in terms of Calendar days P5 currently comes up the shortest out of 3 and 4.

It's not just negotiations. The amount of text in P5 is way more overall. There are far more NPCs, with far more frequent changes in dialogue - far more dialogue in dungeons, especially Mementos, and the game is much more text heavy as a whole, it's not even close.

You're right that Golden has one more dungeon, but I mean jesus fuck the quality difference is insane, and in terms of total dungeon density, P5 is definitely larger.

Same can be said for Calendar days, it may not have the most "days," but measuring the game in the calendar size is silly, since P5 has definitely got a longer playtime despite that, and the average length of a playthrough is much longer; due to the far bigger dungeons and shit tonne more text.

Not sure what you're really saying on "events". P5 has about as many as P4G, they just don't all end up being as happy or as "event for the sake of an event" as P4G, which could sway it in favor of P4G for that - the only one P4G really has one up on P5 for is the ski trip.

Yeah but as a result the "events' are mostly just plot conversations and less friends hanging out to show them as characters beyond when everything is serious.

Like technically there's Chrismas and New Years stuff in 5, but it's just them being sad over Protags jailtime and resolving to help him, instead of actually showing what the characters are like when there isn't a problem going on.

On the contrary, P5's pacing is better to me because of that - and the feeling of a continuous momentum is something they've been touting for the game from the initial reveal of the game's logo.

But I have no fucking clue how you feel that you don't get to know the characters as well. In P5 I felt like I knew the cast better than either P3 or P4, and they felt like far more believable characters since their interactions happened through the game's natural events, not just through designated "events" for them to have socializing time and to forcibly interact. The plot only gets so "heavy" that interactions become out of the question around November/December, there are a bunch of moments of levity prior to that.

There are plenty of points where you get to see the characters naturally hang out though, what are you talking about? Seriously I just don't even feel like we played the same game. The group chats, the hideout conversations, and just the overall social events are just as if not more fleshed out.

Catherine's localization is severely overrated. By localization standards it isn't by any means bad, but it suffers from a lot of problems. The dubbing is poorly edited - the mixing in the anime cutscenes is pure fucking trash, and there are a bunch of audio glitches(?) that cause some lines to be way louder than others, overlap with others, and end prematurely, which is incredibly unprofessional. For the CG cutscenes there are also timing issues that cause scenes to be unnaturally quiet at times, and for dialogue to once again overlap. There's also a serious problem with double-casting in Catherine, and surprisingly, it doesn't seem like that's a problem with P5. And Catherine's a game where one of the main story mechanics is recognizing the sheeps' voices as characters from the real world, so when players recognize the wrong voice due to double-casting, there's a problem.
