cent is badslardar in the first 10-15 minutes and in the first 5 min of lane(since he dont have sprint as escape), but in many lineups, a global cd escape/initiation tool scales much better than slardar single target vision and armor reduction (which can be purged off by euls, manta, lotus, all very popular items) not to mention cent aghs is just ridicolous, and once cent gets a hood or vanguard he outfarms slardar by a ton, which means that bkb's/hearts/aghs are not far out at all
so heah, he is badslardar in terms of getting a 10-15 min blink and ganking around, but past that centaurs ult opens up a world of difference in how you can take teamfights
Slardar brings a different thing to lineup than Cent. You should compare Cent to Silencer for example imho.
With Slardar you pick an anti-carry that can, in a gank or a pick off before fight, help you melt a fat fucking core hero like that..

I see where you're coming from, but I feel that slardar is much more useable in the early game when he gets lvl 5/6, and instead of joining up with his team he goes to a lane solo to farm and preassure, and then have his team look for fights as 3 or 4 and use his ult to initiate, whilst centaur goes vanguard or hood and then KEEPS farming for that blink and THEN he starts being the initator dont feel like silencer is the same, especially not on support since he will get his lvl 6 much later, and of course it has like twice the cd

I don't personally subscribe to the dichotomy of skills as defensive-offensive as most of the skills, even the most defensive skills like Grave can be used "offensively" by slamming it to 10hp Huskar that's in a fight extending his aggressiveness.
