Nah, story is that knight leadership is being lied to, the knight characters themselves aren't bad guys any more than any of the other characters are bad guys.

Did you have the 100 ubi points removed? You're supposed to both get the code shown to you after that as well as getting it in email.
I did it yesterday and it took me quite a few attempts to escape the endless Loading on the club ubisoft site but eventually it worked just fine. Wouldn't surprise me at all though if your code just vanished into the nether.
