What?

That's supposed to be impressive? Italy is chockful of even older shit. Perugia still has its etruscan walls standing, those were built in the third century BC.

I think that its very impressive

The steam turbine dates back to the 1st century AD.

are you autistic?

Can someone tell me if the towers and giant wall with those windows date back to the Roman era too?

why?

Yes but they were restaurated in the 15th century, so they might be different from roman times.

what a poor response

a poor response to a poor response. what else would be suitable

Retarded fuck

Of all the architectural marvels of Italy, you had to choose a plain ass gate in coke town. Way to go OP
T.Italian

>coke town

Thank you terrone!

>plain...

Retard, it's a fucking castle after 2000 years most roman ruins elsewhere look like shit except those in Rome and a few other examples

So many retarded burgers in Veeky Forums, you should stick with your civil war "history".

Did something important happened there?

DUMB AMERICANS XD

what about the statue?

>This ancient city gate was built in the fucking 1st century bc by the fucking Romans!

This ancient city gate was built in 3500 BC by the Persians!

It's located in Shahr-e Sukhteh, Iran.

That's awesome. Too bad it's in such bad shape, but hopefully it can be preserved.

>Persians

There were no persians in 3500 bc, maybe you mean Elamites, besides the Roman gate (if it's really Roman and not medieval-modern) is way more impressive.

If that was legit built by Romans at that time and not touched up by "romans" then that's pretty fucking cool, senpai

The problem about desert ruins is that they all look completely the same, no matter if they were built 100 or 5000 years ago.

>The Greeks of Byzantium had flamethrowers that they mounted on their warships. They were quite effective, and feared.
>The Crossbow was not invented in the middle ages but in fact hundreds of years earlier, the Romans had crossbows that they used during sieges.
>Ötzi is a man who was found frozen in a glacier in the Alps, well preserved although over 3000 years old. All his equipment was in fine condition, including clothes, a bow & arrows, a flint knife and copper axe.
>Potatoes, tomatoes, squash and kidney beans all come from South America and did not exist in Europe before the 1500's.
>Horses did not exist in America when the Europeans started arriving, the natives had hunted their horses to extinction thousands of years before.
>The Aztecs did not have iron. They smelted some copper and gold for decorations but all their weapons were from stone and they never made metal armors.

I guess that's mostly weird / curious historical facts. For incredible architecture, nothing beats the Romans, bridges in particular, there are several still standing today and still in use, for over 2000 years.

Probably because it was made 3400 years later and has had people to preserve it.

The gate on OPs picture was restored thats why it looks better.
