When the original Dragonball Heroes manga was made, the Dragonball Heroes game itself had no proper storyline, which is why they went with that meta concept of kids playing a VR version of the game - although eventually tying it to Dragonball for real in order to raise the stakes.

When the game itself introduced a proper storyline though, it was pretty much a continuation of Dragonball Online and the original Xenoverse, with Time Patrol vs Demon Realm (they don't use the Time Breakers name in Heroes for some reason) and that's still the main story up to now, with many new and old characters joining both sides.

The avatars aren't really relevant storywise for the Heroes game. The new manga adaptation of Heroes, based on its actual story, doesn't even use the avatars as characters, starring Trunks himself.

But he's not Tien.

Ki blast cancels is not DBZ feels at all, though granted you could say that for block cancelling but block cancels let you speed blitz/go fast and make for HIGH OCTANE FIGHTS

Ki blast cancels really trigger me because they (or more like ki blasts in general) fuck up just about any of my tricks and supers. I can't even do something as simple as a Masenko after a clash because a single ki blast knocks me out of it every time.

It's really effective. I try to do it and fail because I haven't learned the timing properly, but I really don't want to practice something I don't like doing

So I'll just have to take losses and try to stop bitching, but bitch anyway because it really is super tryhard and I get autistic when a fight isn't done proper in a game that isn't really that deep of a fighter but people try to go deep with it anyway and make it unfun

I haven't even bothered trying to learn it. It really takes a lot of fun out of a fight and I wouldn't want to do it to others myself.
