Tell me about the progress you will make during this thread.

No art so no progress.

Post progress my lads your webms always help me cope with reality

The thread is closed until further notice until the Shitposter is forcibly removed. Thank you for your patience and obedience in this trying time.

I wonder who is behind these posts.

Progress welcome.

I'm gonna implement a super lightweight library to load custom music format. I'm aiming for a 10kb library, and 10-20 kb per song

m8,

I'm learning new stuff.

I will debug my body

Until my midterm in a couple of hours I am working on Vulkan in Rust.

>load custom music format
So basically a converter to make mp3/ogg/wav into something your game can read?

Post dev MUSIC!

Are you Pixel?

Are all game devs this autistic?

>not using fever dreams for truly original game ideas

Righto.

A good chuck of the performance at the moment goes on the ambient occlusion, which I force on because tracks currently have no shading. Hopefully after some baked shadows it'll look fine without it.

Would you mind (or anyone with an older PC) going to the menu, opening the console (with `, the key next to 1) and copy pasting this whole line:
>stat fps | t.maxfps 500 | scalability 0 | r.ambientocclusionlevels 0
It'll make it look terrible, but I'd like to know if it becomes more playable. Your framerate should pop up on the right.

Alternatively
>scalability auto
will attempt to find a good setting

Wouldn't be the first time. Stop spamming the shitpost poll. The real vote was already taken

No, something closer to modules or pixel's pxtone
Sort of midi but with my own samples/synths

I wish. Pxtone is beautiful.

m8 are you having some kind of personal problem

Sweet summer child. You can stop now.

The (You) you admit is the post actually worth mentioning. I hope (You) get cancer, seeing how keen you are on spreading it.

1/3

Finally finished first pass of art update for MoGiSho (Moth Girl Shooter) my eyes burn because I have been going at this for 4-5 days solid on 3 hours of sleep and a ton of caffeine....

The Moth Dust (bomb) animation is still placeholder from the prototype, the progress for the first stage is about 50% done and the art for the stage is about 70% done. There is another parallax background the stage switches to after the mid boss (the encounter at the end of the webm) which is the city proper.

I feel like I am right on the edge of burning out because I pressed myself pretty hard to do this in a few days so I am going to get back to level layout and mechanics progress before I touch art again. I have no clue what I am going to do about music since the last time I even attempted to compose anything was about 15 years ago but I will do my best. Also I need to find some female voices for reaction sound effects like a yandere laugh during the moth dust ability (Violet Hollow Laughter).

Forgive the video quality, I am still learning how to record and convert properly. Two still screens will follow so you can see what it looks like without the messed up artifacts/noise.

fps wizmud

Still of the pre-mid boss fight dialogue

Thank you, user!

>better hold the pipe on eyelevel so i don't drop it

alri tyler

3/3

Still of fighting a buster type target in the city above the garden that was in the webm.

And that is where I am at now. Going back to mechanics because I still need to do a lot and I really don't want to think about drawing anything for at least a couple of days.

kys

Aye tracksdev, I was the guy who made the multi-track drifting fan-art, played the game and loved it.
One question: I accidentally did something (don't know how) and my cursor separated from the tracks and became the white circle thingy from the flying mode, but I couldn't move up or down and could only delete track pieces with the right click and switch to the train cam. I had to restart the game and only then the flying/building modes toggled properly. You might wanna check out what's wrong.

Now that's progress. Keep it up.
Well, keep it up as long as you keep your body and mind healthy.

Amazing work, user. Keep it up!

And don't joke with burn out. It sounds like a hip synonym to "being tired" until on one day you actually burn out and then you are fucked. Get rest, do something else, relax your brain, meet with other people etc.

youtube.com/watch?v=bTvDRjC-Fl0&index=11&list=LLK6FUqPQyqF_4tmWPZ-HKhA&ab_channel=TheRandomCities4

I will consider suicide because I want to make an MMORPG

Where are Loli, Mecha and Construction?

in Unity, what exactly is the benefit of a character controller versus writing your own movement using vectors, transforms, translations, etc?

all my character is going to be doing is walking around basically, so I don't need physics or anything

Thank you for highlighting why we would not have a loli jam even if your trying to crash the poll worked.

Thank you! I hear you though. I really do need to do more work on mechanics but I will take it as easy as possible for a few days for sure.

I hope your project is going well, user!

using tournament terminology they are in the loser's bracket

Who decided how many themes go in there?

idk all i know is this "person" is very upset about it

Thanks, I liked that.

Not sure what could make that happen.
If it was a white cursor then that was the first version, I've made some changes in the latest one which hopefully fixed whatever it was.

I should really figure out the UE4 patching process so people don't need to download the whole thing every time

loli already won

you can't shitpost a new theme after one has already been selected by democratic vote

Transitions are up and running, the interstitial CYOA section is beatable (though not fully written yet). ITT I'll be finishing up the outro to Act One and attempting to write the introduction for it as well as the bridging conversation between those parts.

you can lie all you want nobody is going to play along with you

Good.
>I should really figure out the UE4 patching process so people don't need to download the whole thing every time
Well the game's not too large, so nobody is really going to complain. It's something I hate too, but you can keep the focus on other things for the moment or forget it.

I did.

Cops and Pirates were the top two non-meme options of the original poll when the new poll was made.

How did Diablo 2 get away with using so many sprites?

I'm trying to do what you've asked, but I can not open the consol for some reason (I don't have a qwerty keyboard, by the way, but I'm supposed to be switched to that layout).

By menu opening you simply mean to hit esc, right?

Who determined which options are meme?

pre-rendering 3d models and large amounts of memory compared to previous generations of PC's

>democratic vote

Please, discard my previous post, I've managed to make it work.

I have around ~220-270 FPS.

I did.

Wanna fight about it nerd?

Do you think agdg is like a goldfish and forgets what happened the night before? loli was beat by pirates and cops for like 12 hours straight and then you attacked the poll with VPNs so blatantly that we all knew the poll was over. So this user made the final poll and now you will shitpost about loli for another 2 months as if you were ever going to make a game or are even a gamedev
I will spare you this one (You) use it wisely

Nah, I'll just call you a fag

I agree with the user who suggested to vote on gamejams from within itch.io so only yesdevs in agdg have a say. In fact it was probably the best idea anyone has ever had in terms of quashing shitposting antics regarding jams.

Let's vote on the next demo day then

Seems very likely.

Why is /agdg/ so prone to psychotic breaks?

Admin samefagging

Sad!

How did they make it so you could change weapons and armors? Did they have separate sheets for every weapon and armor combination?

Under "Bounce Intensity" for my lights, it has an error message:
>Currently realtime indirect bounce light shadowing for spot and point lights is not support.

What does this mean? Do you need the Professional version to access it, is one of my settings wrong or is it just a feature that's not yet implemented?

THIS

It would be a huge relief to not deal with this anymore. I think it was very telling how gogem and the shitposters started suggesting that we just get rid of jams because of the shitposting like that was the yesdev solution or something. Fuck that.

A PC game where regular updates were not seen as a bad thing. You can still play current games on high settings and good framerates with hardware that is half a decade old.

And when you convert 3D models to sprites, it really doesn't matter whether you have 2 perspectives or 16. Bastion did the same.

Out of 150 IPs per thread there is less than a handful of really dedicated shitposters and maybe a dozen that fall for it, perpetuating the whole thing.

Gogem is a
>i am literally shaking right now
faggot when it comes to gamejams. Always has been. Then he occasionally makes empty threats to actually join a jam here. Then doesn't.
Nobody should listen to gogem or gogemposters. Just ignore any post with that name.

As was already said that was a great idea and agdg tends to ignore great ideas so we will just have to wait and see who takes initiative

Except people can just make empty itch.io accounts to vote.
At the same time, many people who enter Jams are newbies so they might make an account just to enter, so there's really no way to discern which new accounts are shitposters and which aren't.

*Initiative on the NEXT jam
I want to see cops or pirates first.

It's Diablo 2, ain't gonna explain shit
simonschreibt.de/gat/dont-starve-diablo-parallax-7/

It's fine for people to make accounts to enter. To vote on the jam you need to have an agdg game on your account though.

It took me 2 seconds to think of this solution. Are you stupid or are you just stonewalling?
I don't really care that's a rhetorical question.

I'm trying to make an animation out of the algorithm, I'd like to see it as well.
How do you convert a bunch of jpgs to a correct animated gif/webm?
(reposting in the new thread, this is obviously an important post)

So if I'm entering a Jam to make my first game ever what do I do?

>How do you convert a bunch of jpgs to a correct animated gif/webm?
gifmaker.me/
two seconds in google

You just don't get to vote on the theme.

Remember. 2 seconds to use your brain. It makes a big difference.

added another pickup. for the times where you feel like not giving a fuck.

who?

It's funny because in America we don't just let any retard wander in off the street and make our laws. You have to be accredited.

For a gamedev it's as easy as putting your game in your itch.io account. Don't have a game? Then you aren't really ready to represent game devs.

Ludum Dare happens 3 times a year if you find this unacceptable. Or you can go to the IRL meetups pic related.

>post on /agdg/
>it's not progress or even tangentially related to game development

>want to vote our next president?

just
ebin

why is this a problem though? everyone can vote even if they don't make games. that makes it fun, other wise the people who make games are just choosing what games they want to make... and also like 10 people at most will vote which leads to a shitty poll

the whole reason the poll went to shit is because of the spamming-bot that rigged the poll and made stupid shit win. if you need an itch.io account then you can't spam votes, one vote per person

really makes me pink get it? xD

not him but you're retarded, stop complaining and trying to bring your shitty american politics into this
if you want to vote, then make a game. simple.

you talking about your own post? so meta

>the whole reason the poll went to shit is because of other people that voted for something I don't like so I'll call it a bot.
