How the fuck to I ensure my clipons have the same angle? And how wide can I have them be? I want turn in to be easy

Do you not have a protractor? If not, find the angle you like on one, then cut out a piece of cardboard that is the same angle between it and your triple tree and use that as a guide for the other side

>having a protractor

fuck off asshole

Ok thx. And how wide can my clipons be? Can I have them horizontal for maximum turn in?

Wtf does this bike have to do with magpul?

Magpul made that bike

Shit's cash

I'm not sure, you might need to figure it out by sitting on the bike.

gulf paints a best

You want them back as far as possible without them touching the fuel tank on full lock

Shouldn't further forward allow me to turn in faster without as much torque on the bars?

what the fuck is rev matching?? cant i just slow the fuck down, press the damn cluch and get down one gear?

Kamakaki > All

Blip de throttle

>cant i just slow the fuck down, press the damn cluch and get down one gear?
yep, just won't be as smooth. Rev matching is just blipping the throttle so the engine is already turning and won't be as jerky when you let out the clutch.

Heres a helpful; guide
1st geat 20kph = 2500 rpm
2nd gear 40pkh = 3000 rpm

What do you think will have if I go from 3000 rpm in 2nd to 1st? The rpm will spike, to about 4000 rpm, because of gearing and this will strain the engine and perhaps lock your back wheel.

It is revving the engine up to the speed the wheel will be moving at once releasing the clutch after downshifting.

For an example, you are in 5th gear at lets say 3000RPM, At the same speed in 4th gear you would be at lets say 4000RPM so before releasing the clutch after down shifting you rev the engine up to 4000RPM.

simple right?

Are you dumb? It completely depends on the specific engine and speed.

Holy shit /dbt/, I've been trawling Craigslist for cheap first bike around my area and I think I have fallen in love.

1994 Yamaha SECA II, looks to be in really good condition for $1350.

spacecoast.craigslist.org/mcy/5986037637.html

Should I go for it?

anyone here has experience with two-strokes?
my rz-350 had a stroke (lel) kast time i used 'er, and it feels like i blew a piston. anyone has any tips or possibilities of death?

There has to be a better way to do this. I can adjust the angle unless the triple is off but I need the triple to make sure the angle is correct. Wtf

*last
fuck

>I have fallen in love
>looks to be in really good condition for $1350

>Should I go for it?
is that a serious question?

YES. I am a complete noob and really gullible IRL, so I was hoping someone here could tell me if it's a good move or not.

seems like a good deal user.

so its useless to downshift if what i want its to stop? i just stop in 5th and go down to 1st while stopped??

Sure

If you want to yeah, but then you don't get the joy of blipping down through gears while your bike shoots off cheeky backfires

If you let the revs drop low enough you don't need to blip to make a smooth downshift anyways (the higher the engine speed the bigger the rpm gap between gears), there's no reason to wait until you're stopped to downshift unless you want to get rekt if you need to accelerate.

Do you guys ever get your bikes serviced at shops?

I need to do my valves but took a peek at the fuel injector I'll have to take off and there's like literally 20 connections I'm afraid to screw up. 90% sure I can do it but there's that 10% that I'll break something, forget how they go together, or forgot to hook something up.

I get tires and shit done. If it needs a major service, like a rebuild or other I'll bring the fz in but you'd be surprised how easy it is to work on stuff. What bike?

>Got new tires put on my bike today
>Metzler M7 RR's
>$388 all said and done
>Looking at the receipt with the mechanics notes
>"Clutch system needs to be flushed"
>Literally JUST flushed my clutch and put in new oil 2 days ago
>Only ridden 50km since
what did he mean by this??

Also riding home in torrential downpour was fun with brand new slippery tires on. Thought my back brake was fucked up but the tire was just skidding.

You can but you'd be a fucking faggot

You can make/buy little labels for each connector or label the connectors themselves with a pen or marker or the like.

buy the beautiful banana bike

Yeah some are already marked from where it was done previously. Apparently these bikes are rarely out of spec until like 50k and it's at 40k right now so I might just forego it.

He's trying to scam you. I've called dealership techs out on that stuff.

Alright then boys, we're doing it. Gonna get it tomorrow. LET'S GO

The shop didn't even mention anything about it. Only realized once I got home and was looking at the receipt.

Good luck mate. I just bought a bike I fell in love with.

Sowing seeds of doubt.

Or they might have thought of another bike.

What did you get, Good Ser Cohen?

youtube.com/watch?v=Z_-YBwKKgtc

youtube.com/watch?v=XuDQdWJETnU

Yamalube that up boi

Only seeds of doubt they're sowing is my opinion of their ability to properly diagnose a bike.

Well that's nice. Please don't hurt it.

I hope I don't either. I'm planning a huge ride on Sunday with my buddy who has an r6. Should be really fun

>tfw only local friends who "ride" have Groms and Ruckuses
I do have another friend who has a... project... of a Versus, but it's going to be a while before it's legal/fully functional.

Have fun dude. Can't wait for it to get warm here in Iowa.

I once took a bike to the shop to get the chain and sprockets replaced.

How come? That's a fairly straightforward job.

>"Clutch system needs to be flushed"
Find a new mechanic.

It's a hydraulic clutch, he was talking about the lines.

He did a good job changing the tires, didn't damage the rims at all. I do all of the other mechanical stuff myself but I'm definitely going over the bolts he would have been tightening.

I think because the rubber makes the fluid dark quickly, he thought it was old? Idk..

They're probably just looking at your service history and basing the services they recommend based on your mileage, not what's already been done by you.

Does that seem right?

Thanks man, I'm stoked. Should be fun riding two pretty different bikes with the same engine

I don't remember the details exactly, but it involved an extraordinary amount of disassembly to get to the front socket. You all but had to remove the engine from the frame, according to my little Clymer manual. It was my first bike and I was afraid of destroying it. 1984 VF500C.

>ebr with springer suspension'
???

Nah, that's the first time I've ever taken my bike there. Also it's an Aprilia and they sell Suzuki so I doubt they even have the service manual on hand.

Right, but if you just flushed it and he's recommending a flush then he's either unknowledgeable or dishonest. Those are not good traits for mechanics.

>TFW want to go for a ride
>TFW everywhere around me (brisbane) is boring as fuck
>TFW no coolfriends to ride with

consider facememe

>tfw still haven't found the DR650's title
I'll probably go screw around on my V-Strom on Sunday; supposed to be pretty nice. Just wish I had friends to go brap with.

On a different note, what sort of tubes are best for something like a DR650? I want something pretty damn tough and mine are shot.

Wait outside a dealership for people to take a test ride, then catch up with them. Instant coolfriends.
It's foolproof

>Posted about a month ago
Don't get your hopes up.
And as general advice, don't fall in love with bikes on CL you haven't even seen yet. It clouds your judgement when inspecting it and negotiating.

yep I agree

How's it going bruh?
