Who is this pepsi fellow? I hope hes not as bad as that bepis creep who sends dick pics out of the blue

>checking in to pick up salt.
>ambiguously foreign flatbedder disregards sign directing trucks to park to the side of the entrance
>causes major clusterfuck as trucks try to get around him and does not appear to notice when angry truckers repeatedly come into the guard shack asking who has that flatbed
>guard asks if his trailer is a step deck or regular flatbed
>i glance at his obvious stepdeck as he answers regular flatbed with supreme confidence
>dis gun be gud
>there's a long line around the property, just supposed to hit a dock when one opens up, though they have an open area to load low flatbeds.
>stepbruv don't need no line, just chills next to me being in the way.
>when it's almost my turn, he jumps in front of the truck ahead of me, probably because he was told to hit a particular dock that is enclosed for safety and it just opened
>he promptly gets told to go to the end of the line by the shipper when he tries to check in, because they know what order everybody checked in at the guard shack
>laughingtruckers.scr
>i'm getting loaded when he finally bumps a dock..sort of
>loader opens door, looks at the 3 foot drop, then walks over and asks him if he knows what the fuck a step deck is.
>laughingtruckers.inf
>he gets his four pallets loaded before I get my 26, and I watch him roll out the gate with two straps ripping into his salt bags on all four pallets and no tarp
Fuck me but today was a good day.

is there any chance that i could learn how to drive an 18 speed truck even though ive never even drove a manual car just automatics? im around trucks all day and even get to service them and change their air brake pads and the idea of how many gears they have and shat gear you want to be in for a certain speed and how to shift it without using the clutch and changing hi/lo and splitting sounds insanely hard but id feel awesome if i could know how to drive one

theres a truck driving school that is 3 weeks long that is like 20 miles from my house but considering i dont even know how to shift right or the proper way to would they probably use me as a joke and just laugh at me and yell at me for being an idiot? or would i have a chance and probably get a cdl in just three weeks?

I didn't know how to drive manual before i took my class, the whole point of it is to teach you how to drive a truck. If you already know then why would you take the class. It's not exactly the same as driving a manual car anyway.

is it really difficult to get the hang of at first especially if the class is three weeks long?

I could change gears easily after three 1hr lessons, once a week. I got my licence after 6 hrs worth of driving lessons.

>MFW there was already a truckerfag thread made when you crapped out this abortion

Delet this

>how can they be jewing drivers when there is a shortage?

I just lurk here as an interested 4-wheeler but it seems to me from observation that the economics of OTR trucking is decided by the number of hours available to the driver for work. The byzantine schedule required by federal regulation makes it nearly impossible for an individual driver to deliver random OTR loads efficiently during the hours that he is alloted to work, if the goal is to make optimum wages. The driver can't fill all the available hours with productive driving for maximum wages; instead, he must accommodate suboptimal delays within his limited pool of hours, restricting his efficiency and therefore wages.

From Company A's perspective, they hire as many potential hours of labor that they can using optimum efficiency wages as an example. You then plug these fresh drivers into your system and make as sure as possible that your loads get moved from point to point regardless of whether the driver's federally mandated schedule is being filled optimally. Eventually the driver hears from an acquaintance that Company B is paying wages+X and decides to move on. If Swift is Company A then Company B need only peg wages to the amount higher than Swift's that attracts enough of each successive wave of drivers leaving Swift to fill their needs, like harvesting a salmon run.

If I have inferred incorrectly, hopefully one of the drivers will point out the error.

any of you haul freightwatch loads? or other """high value"""" loads?

...

I hauled 25 tons of copper a couple times

holy shit these threads still exist

They do, but we run them to 350 posts before making a new one so they are always on Page 7

>the joy of running local and having weekends off
Get to spend Sat morining at the vet. Need to get my rabies shots and hearworm medicine. The dog is just here for comfort since I don't like needles.

>degenerate tattoo
someone please end this fad

>ignoring my Allie knight tfg and replacing it with this trash

Holy shit, is that a cat?

And she's working at that ranch right now. That girl never stops, does that shit at like 6am and then goes to work after. It's a volunteer place and they had a couple people leave so she feels like she needs to pick up everybody's slack and I keep telling her she needs to take a couple days for herself just to rest and relax and isn't obligated to help everybody with everything. I used to be like that too but you have to learn to say "no". Old lady down the street from me runs a cat rescue and asks me for help with a bunch of stuff and just because it's a good cause you always want to do more and more but when it starts disrupting other stuff or gets ridiculous, I put my foot down. I still end up getting stuck doing part of it tho.

I had a load of catalytic converters couple months ago, still have the damn stickers on my trailer doors

its a maine coon cat.

Must be all the coffee that keeps her going?

And B Complex vitamins she keeps telling me about and then I just tell her that she's crazy and any normal person would be tired after getting 3hrs of sleep and then working 12hrs in the sun.

But yes, coffee helps. Although now I have been drinking so much that I can't even get moving in the morning without a couple big cups.

I never had a confirmed high value load, but I once had a trailer going from Houston to Dallas, shipper: Samsung, receiver: Best Buy, and it had three bolt seals and a metal cord seal, so I imagine it was probably worth something. I don't really see the point in having more than one seal, though.

ive had two, one with werner and one with gordo
werner was a high value of airbag explosives that was kinda fun first thingthey tell you is "DONT GO OVER ANY BUMPS EVER" naturally the only road in to the place is riddled with potholes.
gordo was a high value load going to canada. turns out it was defective fax machines
in each case i had to call some third party security thing to report in. verify i was me and then had to drive like 400 miles before i stop for any reason and report in when and where i stopped. otherwise no different than normal

>MFW two truckerfag threads for me to annoy anonymous busriders in

Why are there two threads?

>Giant Catter
Maine Coon. They're the St. Bernard of the domesticated cat world.

You sweep that girl off her heavily tanned feet yet?

Someone got tired of the Allie Knight posts and non-updated green texts so they made a new one

Allie knight faggots keep spamming that shit. Report and hide.

I just died of laughter user.

>this kills the man

Msine coon. Getting some

Will being on blood pressure medication disqualify me from getting my DOT card?

The local clinic I was at for employer drug tests offers DOT physicals and saw a poster on the wall saying your blood pressure must be below 140/90. I went home and took mine and it was 149/93.

Should I go to the doctor and get on some blood pressure medication, or would this look bad when I go get my DOT physical? Should I try some natural remedies like cutting out sodium?

I'm 24, 6'2", 238lb. Not obese or anything. I just have extremely high anxiety.

If you fail the DOT physical for high blood pressure, they will send you to a doc and get meds to manage it before they will pass you. Might as well see your own doc and get the shit under control before taking the DOT test and failing it and having to deal with that bullshit.

You should aim to cut down on sodium intake whether you want to get a CDL or not.

Wat.

>MFW a nerdy female long haul trucker is the scourge of our times

sure it wasn't 200 miles? that sounds like my job, i'm on the other end taking calls.

Crossposting because I'm a massive attention whore.

We have to put my dog down in about 10 minutes. My eyes hurt.

wait, wut? no

Don't worry that goes away after a day or two, then it's just a dull ache in your heart every few months when you think about it.

Sorry to hear it. RIP pupper.

In school now about to graduate. All the staff here says it's often easier to train people who haven't handled sticks cause they don't have to unlearn bad habits and single clutch and stuff.

the printer one wanted 400 i remember them being very explicit with that. they also made me wait like 3 days to pick up that trailer.
as for the explosives it probably was 200 or 300. ive been given a few different ones.
potato chips dont want you to go above i think 6k in altitude or the bags pop.
>yfw every pass they want you to take is over 10k
welp.

Damn. I feel for ya br/o/. This doge is getting olddddd and like 2yrs ago we thought we would be putting her down within a couple months. Changed up her diet and got her on some new meds and she was like a slightly used 2015 Hyundai compared to a 1992 Ford Escort.

interesting, i was told we were the only ones who do this kind of thing but we only do 200 miles. kek.

I literally have nightmares about being in this situation

Thank fuck I haven't so far

I saw that vid.

Dude got so much hate for doing 3 pull ups and 2 goals

Thanks, guys. Bailey is now a supertrucker on the great interstate in the sky. Godspeed buppers.

Best in class..

Lose some fucking weight porky. Your numbers will go down.

I was just thinking about how much I suck at backing up. I fucked up the past 4 backs I had to do, today I had to go park out in the dirt pit because the only spots left have this wall so close to them that I don't think I could've gotten in if I spent all day. And I spent quite a few minutes trying. I can't believe I actually miss my Cascadia.

so I take my CDL test tomorrow. I'm hoping to start with a local flatbedding company. I've always liked driving, but I've also always had bad anxiety. will I hate this job?

That first one kinda sucks. The second one is just like our Bepis lot, the back row there is barely enough room when you have to park between two other trucks because there are bushes and a fence right there. You pretty much have to hit the bushes with the front bumper to get it in some of the tighter spots and the warehouse guys tear off a bumper on a truck like once a week trying to get into those spots.

But the setup is key. When you are first pulling up to the spot, set it up like pic related and it will be so much easer. Just look at your mirror and roll those trailer tires right around the other truck's fendirrors. Starting from a 90deg angle makes it so much more difficult and I see dudes do it all the time and want to yell at them.

drive safe pupper

:)

This Have a nice strong drink before you take the test. I failed my first time because I was all anxious and tried to play supertrucker and get all zeros on the skills part. Got the verbal pretrip done fine, then the skills was a pull-up, right turn, straight backing, and driver side 90deg backing. Scoring had the cones where you had like a foot to get "0", then a few feet for 3, 6, and 9pts. Went for the 0 on the pull up and ended up going past the cone by literally an inch and failed right there.

Went back the next week a little more relaxed and shot for 3s on everything. I think the cutoff was 10pts, so I got 3 on everything and needed a 0 on the 90deg backing and knocked that shit out. Look at me now!

Fergot pic. Younger pupper being a needy cunt.

I suck at backing too. I always miss the exact spots I need to be in by a few feet either way and it's been years now so I'll never get any better. I know the moves to get out of situations but I'll never look good at backing.

Lrn3flatbed, then. Almost no reversing.

well for my test I have the PTI which is 90 points and I'm allowed 12, 13 is a fail. I've gotten consistent 100s on that, I used to be a Peterbilt parts guy and know the trucks well.

the second part of the test is backing, again we are allowed 12 points and I will do a straight back, offset back, and then either sight or blind side parallel or alley dock. I've consistently been able to complete these with 0-2 points.

the last part is the road test, there are 355 points, 30 is failing. I've been doing practice tests on a state certified course and have gotten 5 and 4 points on my last two, but due to some odd circumstances I won't be testing on a course anywhere near me. the courses I've practiced on are both 25 miles but I have heard the one I'll be on is only like 6-8 so things will be coming fast. I'm totally fine with my pre-trip and backing but I'm just afraid I'll mis-read a corner and drag over a curb or something.

If you want to cheat the test, just go in really dehydrated, it will lower your blood pressure significantly.

Yes but you also said you have bad anxiety so have fun when these tests actually matter.

I mean it isn't hard, just don't shoot yourself in the foot.

On the road test, I had the "mean" examiner of the two guys and there was a downhill section coming up to a stoplight so if you hit the red light, you had to double clutch and downshift on this fairly steep hill. Of course I missed the gear on the first try since the truck picked up speed, but I revved it again and caught it fine. He was all quiet and just like "what happened there?" so I explained real quick downhill and downshifting and didn't rev enough. He did his little check on the sheet and didn't say anything else. I was so nervous that I fucked it up right there until we got back to the lot and he told me I passed. I don't think he even took any points off that since I was able to correct it and explain why.
