Specifically a Sedan Third Gen Mazda 3
I have a first gen.
Great car.
3rd gen is great too
Thanks
Thinking of getting a 2010. Got mixed opinions on reliability from family and friends. Give me the nitty and gritty
I owned an 06 and now drive a 15 gt with the manual. I love it, wish it was a little quieter and had a little less body roll.
Best in it's class because it still uses real transmissions.
Reliability is good but a lot of mazda3 owners are young girls. An unmaintained car will always be unreliable.
>real transmissions
Drive a 2nd gen 2.5, It's awesome. Will probably turbo it one day and make it a sleeper type deal, speed has the ricer hood to make it look like a "race car"
I thought body roll was completely a thing of the past for third gen.
If they had a DCT option and 200+ hp, I'd buy a mazda3 hatch. Apple carplay would be a plus too.
Apple car play is coming, it's a software update for their infotainment screen.
No fucking way are you serious?! What about the android version of that? So I own a 17 Mazda Touring sedan, do you reckon when its available I can just take my car in for service at Mazda and they can update it????
I just hope their 2018s aren't all their new high compression engines. Hopefully they have a model with a regular skyactive engine with 200+ hp
first gen is best. or get a civic for 3k.
Apple Carplay and android auto
caradvice.com.au
>The spokesperson added that both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto “should be retroactively upgradable onto all Mazda Connect systems with a potentially minimal hardware addition needed”, meaning existing owners should be able to have their infotainment systems updated to offer the software
New 2018s have been marketed to have 20-30 more hp and a 10 or 20% increase in fuel econ. I'm waiting for a decent 2.5L turbo engine and people to start making mods for it so I can modify my 2010 2.5.
It's subjective but I think a stiffer rear anti-roll bar would be beneficial. Might do it some day.
How fucking broke do you have to be have a car budget of 3k?
It's not a matter of being broke.
>buy older clean, stock, efficient civic for 3k
>put some money into it once in a while
>5-6k total
or
>buy a new econobox that doesn't get any better mpg for 20k.
The choice should be obvious.
HOLY SHIT YES!
>older clean, stock, efficient civic for 3k
Impossible, the choice should be obvious. Keep telling yourself that to make you feel better broke ass nigga.
They definitely exist. Just admit you're a fag that isn't comfortable enough with himself so he has to drive a new econobox for his "image". I'm not saying don't spend 20k on a car. Just spend 20k on a V6 accord or G37.
>being concerned about image
>fag
>loves civics
Found the mad Chinese kid
Has anyone here replaced gen2 motor mounts? looking for either to replace the passenger one for $65 or spend $200 on an aftermarket one. what do you reckon?
...
Serious question fellas, new Mazda 3 or new Honda Civic?
Most people who buy cars like a new Mazda 3 do it because they can't even put together 3k and buy a used car outright, so they have to finance a brand new shitbox as it's the only thing they can get accepted for. It's the only reason cars like that can even exist.
What about the people who buy new Mazda 3s outright?
...
I own one. It's an autotragic (kek) hatch. I have no complaints whatsoever other than the road noise being a little fucking horrible. Other than that other marques in that class are completely BTFO'd.
How many people have actually done this, 2? In that case they are just extremely financially inept and clueless about cars.
How can one man be so mad .
Mad at what?
At people having money to make trash decissions
they're both shit.
Mfw I own a 3 in this color and look similar to this guy
exactly
Are you Canadian?
I couldn't care less what people do with their money, but next to nobody is making that particular trash decision, if anyone at all, because almost nobody is that stupid. Cars like the Mazda 3 and any other 20k and under new car exist solely for people with poor/no credit that can't manage to put together the funds for an outright used car. The few outright sales are likely from small businesses or larger company fleet sales.
Murican
Relocating the intercooler and changing the hood would be a lot less work
Currently DD a 2006 GT at 200k, test drove a 2016. It's an improvement, but mostly cosmetic. Handling and finish are pretty much the same. Reliability was great with mine, but I take care of my shit and rustproof. Find someone who does the same and any gen GT is a good buy.
Yeah probably. I like the hood it'd just be ricey on a normal one. Might look into a speed if i can find one in good condition, preferably one in as good condition as my 2.5
Typical Civic Cuck
I don't own one but I've driven a brand new one twice. Nice interior, better than most cars in the price range, it has pretty good acceleration, you can do a nice little burnout, slight body roll, but overall it's not a bad little sedan, fun little car.
I drive a 2nd gen 2.5 as well and it's a great car but I really wish people would stop trying to turn it into something it isn't. It's a fucking emaciated FWD Econobox. Don't put it on coilovers. Don't put in aftermarket sway bars. Don't put on summer tires. Just leave it the fuck alone and buy a proper tuners car if you want to do that kind of shit.
>dont make fun car more fun
Oh... k
I have the 2.0 L 6spd 2016 sedan. Good for daily driving, though it's not that fast. Also since it's an econobox there's rev hanging and that makes driving the stick slightly annoying. Besides that I don't really have any complaints.
you're so mad i can't stop laughing
I bought a mazda 3 with a smashed front end and fixed it for the gf she abuses it every day takes it just fine
Damn those are nice stock wheel, Doo need for my civic
Have a 14 3iTouring hatch and a 14 Mazda6 GT if you still have any questions outstanding, OP.
I'd recommend the 6 over the 3 but that's just me. Also the 3 sedan looks terrible in person compared to the hatch, imo.
dude this guy seriously spews this shit on any thread where people are considering to buy a newer car.
is that the mazda3 or the mazda6? That seems really big.
Mazda 3
>tfw first gen mazda 3
>bought it last july
>washed it every couple days/5 days max whenever their is salt
>can see a little bit of bubbling on the rear quarters
>rocker panels are starting to rust on one side
>little paint chips oxidizing on parts of the car
Feels fucking bad man, completely lost all motivation to do anything to it. What is the point, it's just going to rust in pieces. Nothing is completely rotting out like some of the 3s i see around but still. Still completely mechanically sound.
>tfw first gen 3 with no rust
Feels good man. No salt here
Delete this
mazda is pretty based, the new models are really good looking
Like all mazda product, it's not very reliable.
Lol nice try
>he fell for the Mazda meme
lol
I've heard nothing but bad things about the CVT that Honda put in the newer Civics (even from non-car people).
I might borrow one from the dealer during my next service appointment and test it out, but until then, I'm incredibly wary of buying one.
I would say Mazda 3 just for that.
Which family sedan?
>replying to trolls
He was talking about the mx5 anyway.
it's just an econobox. I have a 2009 mazda3 and I just rustproof it every year to prolong its life a little longer. Get a second car for the summer if you want something to baby.
my car's undercarriage looks sort of ok now, dunno if it's black from black oxidation or just oil. Probably just oil but it's good enough.
I don't bother to wash the salt off until the snow thaws for real and it becomes warmer. Frequent washing during winter (when the corrosion reaction is inhibited anyways by low temperatures) would be just be detrimental to the rustproofing.
