I noticed that link monsters might have link arrows pointing forward (to your opponent).

Yeah, now you need Link monster otherwise you stuck with only 1 ED monster, unless you use Senet shenanigan.

It's the first set of a new summoning type. If DUEA was anything to go by, the new type will be meh, but there will be some decent archetypes that come out of it.

Expect the good stuff in the next pack, when Link summoning really takes off.

What the fuck Konami

- The new rules makes cards like Dark Magician much stronger going forward.
- Product going forward is strictly named Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters (removing the name rebranding each year)
- The new mechanic will not be anything to write home about to start with much like with Duelist Alliance and Generation Force not making Xyz or Pendulum Summoning a big deal to start with
- The new mechanic will get ramped up by July or so
- Decode Talker is a Cybers-Type Monster and is related to "Link Summon"
- The arrival of Link Summon will gut (or is intended to gut) Zoodiac, and make Ultimate Conductor Tyranno (not Megalosmasher X and its ilk) the new metagame from April 2017 or so onwards
- Xyz and Synchro Centric Decks basically die in the face of Link Summon, while Ultimate Conductor Tyranno and the like are important going forward
- The New Lightsworn are super cool.
- Decode Talker is not Yusaku's full ace card, however it's really strong and essentially a vital card for Link Summon. It's a 2300 or so ATK ace like Junk Warrior. The 2500 ATK ace is elsewhere.

I havent played in a while and came bsck just to joij the hype, but Link Monsters dont even have to be very strong as I understand it, since you can literally only summon 1 extra drck momster withput playing them and they are relatively easy to summon. These are like Xyz in that sense, only decks play them out of necessity more than sheer convenience or value like Xyz. In other words, they dont need to be strong to be good, they basically just need to exist. Youre going to have to play any of them no mattet how atrong they are or be a primarily maindeck centricdeck now which is a minority to say the least.

DUEA still had Shaddolls and Satellarknights, so far every card in this set has been bad.

Gear Chronicle has been around for too long, Luard is vanilla beat with the typical restand/guard restrict bosses backed up by way too much card draw, and Sanctuary Guard is just braindead lucksack rush.
