4U and Generations are separate games so nothing can be transferred. And while 4U is better and has more content it's an almost dead game online. You won't have trouble finding hubs but there's no real "community" left for it. So if there's something specific you want to do you're going to have a hard time finding people that will also want to do it. Generations is the newest one so it's got a lot of players and you can transfer your Gen save to the expanded G rank version when that is released.

Arts are a new mechanic introduced in MHX. Basically are just special moves for each weapons.

You might like Soul Sacrifice Delta. It plays differently from Monster Hunter but the setting and tone are dope. You can play it on one of those $40 PSTV's instead of buying a Vita for it.

The main problems with Gen aren't "haha it's anime xDD" memes, that's a matter of taste. Objectively, its field of view is about half as wide, meaning everything looks closer to the screen and you can see less, which is really awful for judging whether you're close enough to hit a monster/far enough to avoid being hit, and it runs at a much lower fps. 4U is capped at 60 but usually runs between 40-60, almost always 60 or very close to it, while gen is capped at 30 and usually runs around 20-25- Low enough you will almost certainly be able to visibly see separate frames at times. This wouldn't be as much of a problem in a game like, I dunno, pokemon or something, but in a "frame-perfect" action game it's simply unacceptable.

It's also not a G rank game, so if you do get it I highly recommend you pirate it, you'll still be able to transfer save data to XX.

No ticket grinding.

Better visuals.
A story (low rank).
GQs and apex (hit or miss)
Subspecies (also hit or miss)
Greater difficulty.
