I placed Rank 38 during preseason. I played mostly Sonya, Thrall, Johanna and Lili during placements.

The WoW arena system was a little shitty because the rating/achievements weren't associated with a particular character, but you could always just look at current rating.

If you want to climb ranks I recomend you to stick to strong warriors, especially Johanna. You have a high winrate with her, she's pretty easy and can carry real well in low level and for me it was the hero that made me learn the game.

Well, I'm diamond 1 but my QM mmr is bronze on hotdogs. I regularly play with bronzies in QM when I'm leveling heroes. You get a lot of strange opinions. Some of the things I've seen

Sure, of course. It's just that the people down there just (at least in my experience) aren't very receptive to advice, criticisms, or whatever. They spend too much time thinking about, well, everything.

I've found this applies to other games, also. Had a Master and Silver friend in League playing together. That wasn't pretty. Also a named gladiator and 1400 player.

I'll likely give it another go soon. The thing is I did all my placements during the weekend last time and people said to avoid them during that time. And during the weekdays, I'm just too tired from work. I always played more Warriors than any other role. I feel so comfortable and people tend to follow me.

But yeah, I'd love to be better, it is just proving to be surprisingly difficult. HOTS may be a brain dead game for ya'll, but I've been playing since Butcher came out and am still bouncing between Gold and Silver QM MMR.

I love the game though and I wouldn't mind being better. Honestly, though, at my MMR, being better is mainly sticking to team and trying to shotcall before bad ideas pop up.

You might want to watch pro games too. They learn you a lot about shotcalling and that's real impactful for warriors since like you said your team tends to follow you. Give it a try maybe you like them.

Games on the weekends are bad but I don't think that applies much to lower ranks. I might be wrong.

Just queue up and play. Focus on you. Improve on your fundamentals. Any mode, just focus on doing things...better. Less emphasis on winning individual games, more on just performing well consistency.

Ehhhh, there's really only so much to be taken from professional games when you're still learning.

There is a lot to learn. When to splitpush, when to invade, when to play safe and back up, how to play safe and what to do when the enemy team wins an objective.

If you don't like watching you shouldn't force yourself but it won't hurt to check it out. Maybe you'll like it. I have a blast every time I watch a good team play.

And it made me a lot better. Currently I'm between masters and gm. My mechanics aren't very good, neither are my reflexes but my shotcalling and map awareness is what carries me and I learned that from pro games.

I'll get some games in. It is a bit silly to skip placements entirely for three seasons. Who knows?

Anyway, I just need to be more mindful. And maybe stick to fewer heroes. With the game pouring so much gold on me, I play tons of random heroes. I have two level 10s, Chen and Sonya, but that's about it.

Sure, it's mostly just about not overwhelming yourself. In every game I've ever played there are always people struggling to juggle all of the stuff simultaneously instead of just the basic...things, like spam pinging boss after getting 2-3 kills, including Falstad. Or the enemy merc camp when you're able to contest.

Yeah I saw your Chen, Anub and Sonya. They're all good but Anub and Chen are niche picks. Johanna is good all the time as is Muradin and E.T.C. but E.T.C. is also very squishy so I don't recomend it yet.
