Nope, but to be safe equip 1* uru, then amplify for 4-5 slots, AND THEN equip your intended, good uru
this is assuming you're at lvl 70 to do amplification

So what does amplify do exactly? I thought it's something for your urus but I guess not?

Amplification is to do with uru
Each gear has 5 uru slots, once you've filled all 5 slots for one gear, you can "amplify" the slots. If a slot gets amplified, the uru in the amplified slot will give bonus stats. You want those bonus stats on your most important urus.
So first you equip shitty 1* urus in all 5 slots, do your amplification and settle for 4-5 slots amplified (usually 4 - 5 is super lucky) and then you see which slots got amplified and then start putting your good uru in the amplified slots
the alternative you're avoiding is putting your good urus in right away, and then doing amplification only to never get the good uru slots amplified or in the pattern you want it to (since it's all random each time)
once a slot gets amplified in a roll, it stays amplified, you can switch the uru out with whatever the fuck you want

It's a boost for the stat. you have basic attack uru for +15, you amp its spot you get an extra +20. total phys attack is now +35 for that slot.
at 6* its like having 2+ uru in the same slot, worth it.

Problem is you pay 30k to gamble on how many slots you amplify, it picks any 1-4 at random and if you're an rng god you might get all 5.

I've only just started using them. Threw whatever I had to amp slots for fun.
Need to start farming properly but the clear ticket usage is obscene.

Yeah every time you hit amplify it will reroll for each of the 5 slots with any of the 5 being amp'd each roll.
So having all 5 amp'd is great, otherwise as the other user said. Fill with shit uru > amp till satisfied > replace with your good shit.

It is thought. Now there's a split second delay between her 5* and 6*. I guess PoAH wouldn't be a problem for people with minimal attack speed from their cards but honestly my attack speed is already too high as it is.

What's the difference between upgrading with good urus equipped and upgrading with shit urus equipped? It's not like they get downgraded or something, and at the end of the day it's just luck trying to get all 5 slots filled.

Nothing wrong. I was able to 5/5 HIM before I was even getting 3/4/5 wins against BD.

HIM may be easier since you can use energy AND physical characters whereas any good physical chars will get btfo against spin2win unless they're super meme like T2 Carnage

The mechanic is BD's stupid high physical defense, his physical attack shield, with his weakness being his low energy defense
So yeah you're gonna have to take him on with characters who use energy attack
