Why is everyone wanting to build a hypercar?

It's probably cheaper to develop at hypercar than it is to develop a truly competitive economy car at this point.
Probably both of these.
>hire a composites guru
>hire a frame design wizard
>hire ex-boeing aero sorcerer
>more boost than God could take
Simple as pie.
This. From a business standpoint it's much easier to develop a money-is-no-object luxury toy than something constrained in pricing from both ends.
This. Modern Cars have to
>Have great mpg and coefficient drag
>Look sick
>Handle well
>Have great horsepower, torque, and acceleration
>Have comfortable and classy interiors
>Be cheap
>Be reliable
No manufacturer meets all of these.
If its ecoboost powered i'm going to be reeeeeeeeal sick.. Maybe they can do what Ford couldn't and make it a twin turbo Coyote sourced V8.
But it's already faster than a McLaren P1 GTR
honda is 7/10 on all of those, except for reliability which they have a 9/10
Because a layman can build a hypercar
Mazda is close
Has Japan ever made a proper supercar? It would only make sense for the former Axis powers to make supercars, even fucking Spain does.
The term HyperCard upsets me. Where could they possibly go from there? Muscle car => sports car=> super car => Hyper car => transcendent car?
building a hypercar is the logical next step for the people behind the BAC Mono
as per the mainstream car companies, the economy is a lot stronger than it was during the 2000s and rich people and irresponsible middle class people are again ready to blow their money
>everyone.
To be fair BAC might be from a light industrial unit in Liverpool but they know their shit. Engineers from Cosworth, Hewland, Sachs, AP and Kumho Tires partnered with designers at BAC for the Mono so they know where to find them.
I'm still waiting for Prodrive to make a hypercar, or at least produce their P2 prototype.
they all do. you are just expecting too much.
though modern engines are jewed by emessions shit because of the lie that carbon is bad.
Mazda 3 , Vw Golf, Civic claiming top 3.
...LFA?
Has that not always been the case? For example, Mercedes-Benz blew £600 million on the W201.
Megacar, Ultracar
Mondocar
Radicar

Who cares, better than everyone trying to make SUVs
Seconded

NSX? idjit
It costed toyota 400 million dollars to develop the v8 in the first sc400.
>NSX
>supercar
come on now
You forget that they have to meet more and more difficult emission regulations
