I would say that is more true for 13" tires, which is basically any import from the 80s up to the mid 90s (which are all slowly vanishing). I found some brands of tire to have their 13" size more expensive than 14 or 15 inch tires.

Last time I sold 13 inch wheels about seven years ago, they sold fast. I'm now selling another set...they have not moved for six months.
