I hardly see anyone use it.

GCD is a lot slower and Lancer is particularly rough early on (You only use one move from 8-26 basically because it's technically your best potency) but it gets better at higher levels, in the lateish 40s is when it starts feeling a lot better imo but it's not awful 26+. Don't worry too much though because you level fairly fast.

Yeah this guy has the right of it, DRG also has the luxury of being the main for the probably biggest theorycrafter in this game so information for it is always readily available and quickly discovered at the drop of a new patch, just search dragoons per second on google.

Definitely has some of the best glamour options of the DPS. Pretty much the only dps who gets full armor sets (minus 1 or 2 for other dps) and i'm very jealous of that fact ;w;

Don't buy minions off the market board. The vast majority of them you get from the MSQ, Palace of the Dead, you buy with Poetics, etc. Don't worry about housing or anything like that unless you suddenly come into a few million gil. The story is a bit dry in the original ARR content, but it's still a good idea to pay attention to it so you're not completely lost and you'll be able to pick up on character development of NPCs a bit easier. You can be any job in the game, so try them out until you find something that feels good to you. Have fun!
