Lexus LS400

Honda and Toyota from 1983 to 1993.

...

Veeky Forums doesn't seem to like mustangs but there wasn't much like this at the time. Also the R was a wicked track car.

How is that ahead of it's time?

The tiny window meme

Just a bad design for armoring, and the tiny window meme had already sprouted.

>I explain jokes
Spoonfeeding kills boards. Let the Jew rot

every mercedes s-class

Always thought that Dodge trucks and SUVs pre 2001 when everything else was boxy

>More like "Behind the Time".

looks like it's gonna turn back into a toy when the kid enters his room

>wicked track car
>solid rear axle
>3300+lbs
>ahead of it's time

>Not an Evo or STI

So whens your driver's license test, lil guy? :)

please tell me what this thing paved way for, except to never build this again?

...

obviously

svo mustang

...

None of these were ahead of their time, just ugly.

>tarbo 4 banger in the 80s
>not ahead of its time

nah son fuck you

New edge cobras had irs, dipshit.

Original Mini, anyone?

>FWD
>Transversely-mounted engine and gearbox
>Alec Issigonis' usage of rubber cones as suspension springs

Shame really, the Mini slowly became a runaway success but BMC still couldn't make money of it; they were sellling each one at a loss.

The new edge cobras featured superchargers and a new IRS system designed just for them. 3300lbs honestly is not a terrible weight by any stretch of the imagination. It's in the "stable, but not flickable" category.

First car to reach 200 MPH on a nascar track, great aerodynamics even by modern standards, pretty sure it was the first American car seriously tested in a wind tunnel

fiat 127 and Renault 4 are more like the modern implementation
the mini has a lot of design features that never saw wide spread use

...

>roll cage
>sidepipes
>fibreglass body

That was the Chrysler Airflow which is also magnitudes better looking.

no motor oil good enough for it yet

Only made to perform in the coming ice age.

I didn't know that was the joke OP meant to portray.

>track
I think you mean drag, user. Track cars need to turn.

Fuck off Volt fag

My dad worked at a Ford dealership when those came out and he got to drive one, he said it was cool except for the fact that it's slow as fuck

You're absolutely God damn right

>yfw every crossover looks like this now

Saab 900

It was pretty much the first car in history to be banned from racing because it was too good and too fast.

They don't at all you retard. Every cross-over today looks like a mini-suv. That thing looks like a Subaru Baja or Honda Ridgeline that got ass cancer.

Lol I've been the only person I know that like the look of these dumpsters.

>mini suv

I think you mean fat car.

It smacked around a Z06 and a Viper when it was new.

This beast had both a supercharger AND a turbo, and ruled the world in 1985 till class B cars were banned for being too fuckin amazing

I wish Isuzu still made passenger vehicles.

Literally rude.

Except it was so unsophisticated that Peugeot kicked their shit in in 1985 and 1986

they do
