The last time I played this game was back at launch, how alive is NA still? I used to play on Poharan. I want to get into an MMO again and I'm stuck between this and TERA.

Are the PvP/early dungeon queue's still pretty short? I'm not 100% sure but I think I quit just after I got to the forest area that the main story takes you to after you do all the quests in the big desert, not sure how much catching up I have to do.

Is there any reason to do sidequests?

earliest early is pretty awful up until you reach first real dungeon
but now you can pretty much skip all annoying quests in desert
