usdm is not better, just cheaper and not by much if you are buying an AE86 GTS hatch that isn't rusted to shit.

if you want to buy one that is already in the states (assuming you live here) you can buy from a place like japanese classic llc in Richmond, Virgina.

they import the cars here themselves and do all the complicated paper work stuff done.
there are a premium on Ae86's ESPECIALLY JDM ones.
expect to pay at least $10k for these slow (but fun) shitboxes, but since you are asking on Veeky Forums and not doing your own research chances are you probably can't afford it.

buying these cars as an investment is a terrible idea. They are (somewhat) cheap lightweight, rwd cars that are stupid fun at low speeds. you won't see any profit from any car at all unless you are getting into the millions of dollars.
just buy one for $10k when you can afford and hoon it on a twisty road/track.

Just know that youll still have to pay for shipping granted it won't be as much if you are getting it from either of those states.
