Has anyone pointed out that a SHIELD mod for XCOM2 would be perfect? I mean, goddamn, you already have the Helicarrier. Replace aliens with super powered thugs and Advent with hired goons.

Your Psi operatives are already super powered beings, just need more superpower types (a pyro type that shoots flames in a cone, a fly type that does what the icarus armor does, etc). There's already a boss encounter system.

Sure, there's a teeny problem of Marvel possibly suing the modders. In which case, you scrub all mention of Marvel IP and make it a generic superhero mod.

Does Opportunist work in EW?

Squadsight says only headshot gives critical chance, while Opportunist says that it allws for overwatch criticals.

Overwatch can only proc within visual range, therefore is not subject to the squadsight crit penalty.

I'm not sure, but what I do know is that you can overwatch from squadsight with opportunist in vanilla (not Long War).

Is it possible to make a psi class mod that doesn't use the psi amp?

Thats what I usually do in lw2 as I did with lw1. Swap any causalities with the next in line.

A shot in EW will not crit at squadsight range without headshot, period.

One of the changes that EW makes I disagree with. I like how LW handled it (flat -20% to crit chance) over EW.

I don't see how overwatch shots that always hit are a waste. In fact considering how good sniper aim is, I think it's much better than executioner in vanilla, as you are really only getting the crit, not the aim.

I think you could crit from squadsight overwatch in EU, but they might've fixed it in EW.

Thanks matey. Sectopods will fucking kill your solo soldier campaign without extreme luck (which I had) or researching everything so fast you get the Overseer shootdown before September btw.

What build did you use for your sniper? I haven't got a chance to watch yet.

I used Training Roulette and ground out a sniper with good aim and the following perks
Headshot
Snap Shot
Opportunist
Rapid Reaction
Bring Em On
Resilient (HEAT ammo would've been ideal but required much more careful play)
In the Zone

...I also turned on one Second Wave option: Absolutely Critical.

Once I got mimetic skin, the game devolved to sprint to high cover -> overwatch a pod for 1/2 free crit kills -> either break LOS and re-cloak, or flank, ItZ the last enemy, and THEN re-cloak.

Also, International Service Cross (+2 aim per continent bonus) and especially Council Medal of Honor (+10 aim and crit when 10 tiles from friendly units) are amazingly useful, CMoH is basically a free upgraded SCOPE.

How did you get through the base defense?

It's already up. I just sorta carelessly dropped people in the meatgrinder because I couldn't be assed. Cleared out my barracks nice and neat though!

Honestly the only really cool mission in the run is whichever you watch first and then the Temple Ship Assault. It's not very tactically interesting, which is why I'm using it to learn how to do this whole commentary thing. The rookies-only Ironman Impossible is gonna be much more coherent.

Speaking of "tactically interesting", Seekers only cloak for like 5 or 6 moves. Once you find them on a mission, book it for the nearest map edge and let them chase you until you hear them un cloak and then waste em.

Seeker Autopsy is dank as fuck, because you get Respirator Implant and also Meme Skin out if it.

New to long wars in XCOM 2, mind giving me some tips that I should start with? Weapon or classes I should skip like in vanilla or perhaps priority I should have at the beginning so it won't bite me in the ass later down the line.

Put everyone on your starting haven on intel

If you can't get infiltration at 100% just don't do the mission

Also, I would like to know if Long war mod have its glitches fix or should I start downloading a shit loads of glitch fix also. Currently I only have:

A few character pools creation

Are Supply Raids supposed to be this hard in LW2? On Commander and I go in with my best guys and the pods patrol so close that I barely kill the first one before 2 more come in and fuck me. Is it skippable or is it worth losing a few guys over?

What infiltration should I try hitting with this because I've heard people say you should do it swarming but it's literally impossible with the troops I have now, and I have low intel so I'm trying to do it without boosting 73%.

I had to reinstall my game because I fucked up my ini file.

Is LW2 still a fucking buggy mess or is it at all playable?

Also, what do you think an expansion could flesh out or add to the game/ hope they would add? Personally I would like a rework of the timer/concealment system or just add more mission types without timers. I like having to work within a timer, but I also miss regular missions where I could take my time and search a map for bad guys.

I think adding more mission types without timers would be pretty reasonable, just like how EW adds some different mission types into the mix.
More aliens is pretty obvious, but still good. No more ADVENT unless they decide they want some crazy stuff. Tygan needs a mission out in the field.

Depends on if you can hit a facility or do a story objective soon. If you can't then counter the breakthrough.

The UFO is a 50-50 shot at a base defense.

The breakthrough dark events also add progress pips to facilities themselves. If you're lucky then it will add the pip to that nearby facility and you can completely negate the progress.
