Plasti dip, yes or no and why?

plasti dip, yes or no and why?

What the fuck are you saying OP. For what purpose? A part of a car? Whole car? what car is it? what climate do you live in? What do you use the car for?

There's so many variables fuck you fucking reatard i'm reporting you shit like this is why this baord is anad always will be shit god fkcuk yio OP you piece of shit FUCK

yes for small things
no for big things

Definitely yes, works great for rake handles. Absolute shit for anything auto related though.

No. Dip is cancer. Only poorfags and boyracer faggots dip things.

...

It's good for some stuff, I used it to paint my headlight bezels and it turned out p nice

Gay as fuck

>look a highly processed pic of a dip job that was done that day, this proves it's good!
Every wrapped and dipped car in existence looks like shit in person, doesn't matter what product it is, how it was done, it looks terrible, has no depth and the edges always give it away. I've seen them done every possible way, there is no magic, it just looks cheap.

"every wrapped and dipped car looks like shit in person"

Aka you think it looks like shit because you don't like it.

>gets assmad about someone being a faggot and shitting up the board
>breaks another rule in the process of calling him a faggot

Some cars aren't worth painting, so dip is fine
dip isn't permanent, and actually requires fair maintenance, and good technique is needed for it to look good.
DYC isn't a fair metric because they edit, but it's a good resource.
Imo if you're ok with a temp paint job that costs, ~$400 then alright, go for it
I'm considering actually learning to paint (real), because I live in CA so the CA compliant dip is supposedly shittier and I don't have an out of state person to get it by proxy

>some cars aren't worth painting
So leave it alone? What's wrong with leaving it stock?

I used it to cover the ends of rope so it wouldn't fray, worked well!

no
its shit
hard to remove
looks like shit
better off with a fucking rustoleum paint job

fuck plastidip

>the 2017 version of spray paint
It ALWAYS looks like shit. It peels off almost right away. You'll have to do it over and over and over and over.

Save up for a fucking paint job or leave it alone.

super high quality shit with tons of time into prep work? yeah it will look fine for a while. but peeling it is still a bitch and has a chance to take the clear coat and not come evenly

the stuff you buy at home depot? wouldn't do it to anything with paint on it that you want to look nice.

Because clearcoat failure looks much worse than a shitty dip job, and is harder to fix right than just spraying dip right over it.

How about not driving such a shit car?

not him but if i had a car with a hood like this i would try and sand it smooth then paint with a close enough color to everything else then hit it with some cheap clear coat.

black paint is cheap

Google images, breh. Not mine. Just an example of one reason I'd dip instead of painting, especially for a car that's worth less than even a maaco """"paint job"""" .

I'll be real with you right now OP so listen close.

It's good for some things. interior trim in older cars, for example. My car had silver trim around the head unit and A/C controls so I pulled it off and dipped it black to match the interior.
Dip has a rubbery finish, so it looks more like a part of the car than spraypaint would and it was way faster and way cheaper than painting it for real (scuff, primer, paint, clearcoat, etc.).

For the outside of a vehicle? No. If anything, i'd draw the line at the wheels. Anywhere else will come apart and look shitty before too long.

If you're willing to put the work in, do ALL the prep work to the car and do it well. After that, take it to MAACO and get a cheap paintjob. People don't like MAACO because for extremely cheap, they will paint your car, but it will be shitty because the cheapest options have little to no prep work.

So if you do the prep yourself, pay for the paint only, and perform all the after care, you save yourself tons of money and get your shitbox done nice.

Yes, it'll come out nice with a glossifier and you can change colors down the road if you wish. It's a lot cheaper.
