I finally awakened last night, all my muscle memory from pre-56 is just fucking me up. How long does it usually take people to get their awakened skills down-pat the first time?

I practiced them for a half hour before I memorized them all. Didn't swap to non-awakened states though, which is another thing to learn transitions for.
