Ford 3.5L EcoBoost

Turbo V6's are clearly better than V8's for track performance. Why would you want extra weight if you're trying to create a lightweight track vehicle?

That V6 engine is stressed as fuck, doubt you'll get many miles out of it lad

It does not weigh 400 pounds

>a turbocharged engine produces more horsepower than a supercharged engine

Yeah, in a very small range of RPM.

agreed. the v8 meme needs to die

it does

I guess I'll believe both of you

But they sound soooo good nigga!

P U S H R O D S

The Ford GT engine makes 647bhp, weighs way more than 400lbs, and comes in a car that costs like $400k

the ecoboost v6 makes 700 hp in the rxc turbo. and it doesn't weigh more than 400 lbs.

>For even more performance select the awesome 3.5-litre, twin-turbocharged direct injection EcoBoost V6 engine, delivering 454PS for true hypercar performance whilst retaining all of the drivability, reliability and cost-effective ownership of its Cyclone counterpart

>454PS
>448BHP

Literally from their website. Stop pulling numbers out of your ass

the turbo r makes 700 hp dumbass

>a-a-actually it was another car that made 700bhp, believe me!
Stop.

it's the same model. just a sport version

Is that weight on the Ecoboost dry with no accessories and fluids? I'd be pretty damn impressed if a twin turbo car weighed that little if it isn't

A sport version that makes 250bhp more just by cranking up the boost?

lel sure, sounds reliable

Well yeah, it's a track engine. I have no horse in this endless supercar shitposting game, but race engines are designed to run just for as long as the race is. They get completely rebuilt between every race anyways. I think Smokey Yunick had a saying about how if a part wasn't broken at the end of the race, you obviously didn't need that much tolerance.

In the narrow range of track performance, engine lifetime isn't something to worry about.

more reliable than the lt4

>memes

>Nissan ZEOD RC
>88 lbs
>400hp

Why can't Americunts even compete?

>FWD race car
Nissan really is a brand for retards

not an argument

Whatever helps you sleep at night, Alphonse

the concept is good
in practice not so

>literally ragequiting

I'd rather have the reliable supercharged V8 previous GT had, 400k for a car that appears to be a ticking timebomb? No thenks

user, it's a supercar. If you aren't prepared to rebuild the engine every time you push it to its limits, you shouldn't buy one.

...

lmao

>b-but it's a race engine, it'll blow up every hour
It's an ENDURANCE race engine, which has already proven itself to be very reliable under very demanding conditions (endurance racing). Unlike the LT4, which can't even go 6 ( S I X ) miles before blowing up.

400lbs is just the block without turbos, with turbos it makes just as much as a v8 so it's same shit

t. gm

it weighs less. the lt4 weighs 520 lbs before piping.

i don't think you're aware how heavy turbos are. same thing is with rotaries, muh weight but slap those turbos on and it weighs as much as a v8

No, it weighs 400 lbs with turbos. stay btfo

what poison you need to eat to die?

op is still sperging over this image
Lol

lol this post triggered ameribetics hard, lol

I don't understand, one is American the other isn't

But the GTR gets BTFO by a Volkswagen on the Nurburgring

agreed, a modified lotus isn't american.

the ZEOD is rwd

if only nissan made its concepts (not just the GTR LM, also the deltawing and stuff) actually last till the end of a fucking race

The lt4 is the engine that can't run for more than a few minutes on a track without overheating and going into limp mode Lmao

>muh any engine that isn't a pushrod v8 is stressed meme
V8fags are so retarded

massive trigger incoming

bump lol

>>Chevy LTE on boost

HP

>1000 hp lt4
>breaks down before it starts

Fine fine,
>620ci v8
>900ish pounds (conservatively)
>3500hp
>runs 5.9s 1/4 miles and proven reliable for a 1200 mile road trip

...

Not a production engine
Stay BTFO

>couldn't deal with the hard facts

Poor lad.
(PS. It's Chevy bigblock based)

And where was this rule stated in the original post?

>couldn't deal
you're right. the corvette can't deal with the power

I hope you realize that drag week cars dont run max power when cruising along the highway
They also have a team of mechanics and a trailer full of spare parts bevause they always break down

The OP is discussing production engines, clearly

Where's your 3500hp v6 that can be driven on the street for at least 1200 miles?
No, mostly just the 4cyl class breaks.

>yfw no modern car runs at max power cruising down the highway.

Drag racing goes on

Most Hondas do.
Almost all n/a 4cyls actually

It's one of the only car racing classes that isn't dieing out currently

...

>>trash

>top speed in ~100hp 4 cylinder economy cars is 110-120mph
>somehow this means they're at max power going 70mph

lel no retard. Cruising down the highway a modern 4 cylinder economy car is probably only making 30-40hp.

He only likes Ford or Nissan because their cheap for poverty niggers.

They reply to themselves ya dummy

Reminder that GTR gets BTFO by a fucking Volkswagen

Stop calling me that

>ignores intercooler and plumbing weight for 3.5 ecoboost

very dynamic thing, building a track vehicle.

you can only use what you can afford...
If you have the rest of the drivetrain/accessories for motor that saves a lot.

I would junk yard aluminum LS and decimate all.
