I'm trying to learn Shugoki, but I'm having a bit of trouble with his sprinting freight train attack.

Watching people on youtube, they're able to trigger it just before reaching the opponent, then stop charging just after hitting them and get in a heavy attack.

When I try this, my Shugoki knocks them down but then keeps on running in a straight line for at least 2 seconds, putting me well out of range for an attack.

How do I cancel the charge?

lock on is definitely the best option since you would need to feint and then lock on anyway so just simply doing lock on removes a step/input

Wouldn't work if you're not doing it with specific people (such as a friend). You need to have it auto-select/start, which won't happen if you're playing alone without matchmaking. Donno if you can matchmake afk.

Throw them off the map like a normal human being.

We do not know what normal fem kensei is, the faces underneath the masks are poorly done placeholders. Maybe one day we will see the masks removed but I doubt it since it is supposed to be this way for the sake of players imagining they are the one behind the mask. Same reason as to why you can have black vikings.
