A Crown Vic might stand out too much to be a getaway car. It might not have the same "cool" factor for fiction, but a generic commuter sedan like a Corolla or Malibu (silver for maximum blandness) converted into a sleeper would be more practical. If he occasionally disposes of the car then it might be better for him to get a different one each time too, perhaps just grabbing whatever's on craigslist and paying cash or whatever).
