If Dangan Ronpa is supposedly this juggernaut supershow that literally everyone in the country obsesses over, then how did literally none of the other students recognize Amami on sight? Sure there may have been a timegap between V2 and V3, but given how huge the show apparently is and that all the students are supposed superfans, Amami should be akin to a famous celebrity to them especially given the fact that he was the "survivor" of the round. People should have been looking forward to seeing him in the next game, thus making him much more recognizable to the general public.

There's not even a "hey, isn't that guy/aren't you-" from anyone. Everyone seems to be unfamiliar with each other, Amami included.

They weren't normies for long and were supposed to be made SHSLs even sooner than they were, but the Monokumarz forgot to add their talents. And showing a bit of them as normies could help show the audience how they too could be made into a DR character.

For Kaede to recognize Monokuma, she obviously knows what Dangan Ronpa is. However, she does not recognize Amami, a supposed star of last season. If she was a fan of the dangan ronpa show, then that means in order for her to recognize dangan ronpa but not Amami, this means she needed to have the memory of watching dangan ronpa without Amami implanted into her head to overwrite the memories of watching dangan ronpa with Amami. That seems like a lot of pointless work just to not have her recognize Amami in the 15 or so minutes she's shown as a normie.

That explanation probably doesn't make a lot of sense, but neither does this game.
