Depends on the kids. Certain kids you need to get fast as possible or else their paralogues will be huge pains in the ass, like Ignatius or Siegbert. Others you should try to delay a bit so they can start with higher weapon rank.

Maybe just clear cache of both apps and then try it again, or edit someone else first

General rule is that Nohr exclusive kids should be early, while neutral kids can be done a bit later, around chapter 20 or 21 so they can start with a D rank in at least one of their weapons. You can also save their chapters for near the end of the game if you want tons of easy experience and a still usable kid.

Chances are they'll have other events where they give away orbs. Pretty much every game of this kind does it.

5 feathers a day is legit bullshit. I would prefer they change the 5 to 100, but even upping them to 50 (50 daily, 50 for a friend, 50 for multiple firends) would be at least not awful.

The weekend orbs should be 2 instead of 1 once the launch bonus ends, either that or just make it 1 orb daily across the board.
