You can only reply to this post if your favorite car manufacturer has won lemans

>not so fast GM

nice try gmcuck

lmao
gmcucks be mad

>all these assmad rotards

t. GM fangirl

is it really dead? I mean is it impossible to modernize? I dont know much about engines

>hurr why cant I drive my sports car every day like a commuter econobox
wankel is good, people act like every engine needs to be a jack of all trades or its garbage.

>liking Amerilard cars
Not even once. But I like your autistic style.

>literally zero pros except for weight and size
>a fuckton of cons in every metric that matters
>is good
no

>parrots things he reads on Veeky Forums

You already listed two humongous pros and dismissed them.
>weight
>size
>ease of maintenance
>much less moving parts
>reliable for racing
>smooth drive
>high revs
>easy to make power
>sounds great

>a fuckton of cons in every metric that matters
like performance? its all positives

>poorfag cantwrench loser crying about mpg and oil change frequency
typical,

I like my Envoy. I don't know what it is about it.
There's also the Fierro. You gotta give some props for that.

You're not wrong.

DELET THIS NOW

You are right. And the inventor was nazi.

>rotary was invented by a Nazi
>rotary research was going to be completely underway if it wasn't for the (((oil crisis)))
>which was caused by OPECs embargoing the United States because they had to fight another war for Israel
>suddenly, the country that made cars that weighed 4-digit numbers with 3-digit engine sizes producing 2-digit horsepower and getting single-digit MPG went "green"

gm fangirls on suicide watch

youtube.com/watch?v=40CXVrMf8bs

>wankel rotaries

literally hitler engine

that heel toe down shift @ 0:41

And the Beetle is literally the Hitler car. So would a rotary powered Beetle be an antisemitic vehicle?

>he left the nazi party because he didn't like what it stood for
The rest of your post isnt true either.
Nice try though

I remember when the Wankel was the engine of the future. I was wondering whatever happened to it.

>unironically posting engineering explained

how are you lads being reeled in by such low energy b8?

>Henry Ford gets outed as a nazi
Good man
>Felix Wankel gets FALSELY accused of being a nazda
TERRIBLE PERSON, FUCK HIM!!!! RRREEEEE

Jesus christ Veeky Forums

>being a nazi
>not being a nazbol

Reminder hitler betrayed the working class

i could easily think of much worse engines

how do you know it was heel-toed

>has to be run at red line to deter carbon build up
>can't but shut off cold or will flood
>bad gas mileage and burns oil
>have to rev to 7k to even feel torque
>seals break down at the first sign of frost
>parts are expensive
>most mechanics don't know how to mechanic wankels
t. RX8 owner who replaced two engines under warranty and will never own another one.
It's one thing to have one run in Motorsports, it's another thing to actually have to maintain it in the real world.

These are all major exaggerations
You sound like you don't know how to maintain a car at all.

> pistoncucks wish their exhaust note could give women literal orgasms

youtube.com/watch?v=40CXVrMf8bs&t=3m23s

>These are all major exaggerations
I bought a brand new one off the lot. Those are all things I was told and experienced.
You sounds like a fanboy who can't afford the real thing.
How about this. Just google RX8 engine and look at the forums yourself. Shit. Google RX7 and read the shit those people have to go through. They're cool memes, but manufactured for public road wankels suck. Hard.

For an engine that was more or less only ever innovated and engineered on by one company, and for an engine that lived 50 years, it didn't do too bad. It makes me wonder how much different it would've been if GM, Mercedes, Rolls Royce, and even AutoVAZ, continued research. GM claimed to have made an engine with an estimated life expectancy of 500K miles, of course it's probably bullshit, but I wonder what kind of technologies they would've used.

My father works at nintendo

I DD'd an RX7 for 7 years.
And am currently a rotary mechanic
You're just an idiot

>not running your car at the redline all the time
>cant wait 1 minute letting the car idle after stopping
>giving a fuck about fuel economy, and not checking your oil
>seals dont break down if you redline it alot
>parts are no more expensive than any other modern car
>wankel a simple

>t.liar who wants to hold on to the memes

You're better off with an LS or a Jap i6.
Just get over it wanktards, the engine sucks for literally every application outside high performance racing.

They burn oil because of an oil injection system. you can replace the system and put 2 cycle in the gas tank.

Lol ok bud.

Has /ourguy/ commented on rotary engines? Since he's a mechanic of 47+ years, has he ever worked on one?

>turn it into a weed eater so it works better
>still doesn't compete with literally everything else in it's class.
They're cool memes, but no one can bring up a decent argument as to why a wankel is better than anything else around.
A fucking turbo i4 is better. The bar is that fucking low.

he probably loves it since few engines rev better than a rotary

if logic dictates what you like you probably need a new hobby

The ICE is a pretty inefficient thing, maybe you better move to an electric car.

Peak torque is at 4k, so revving higher to feel torque... retard
And if you had to replace two engines... the problem is entirely YOURS for being on the level of a middle aged woman who cant into not limiter bashing from a cold start or changing oil every 3k miles.. literally kys

When Mazda releases a wankel that solves even half of the previous problems, I'll be in line to buy one.
Until then, wankfags are just playing with hotwheels dreaming of better days.

>doesn't understand truthful hyperbole
it's going to be a long 8 years for you m8

I doubt you've owned any rotary car let alone driven one
Everything you've said is making me think yo8r 'knowledge' is from YouTube comment sections

Wenkels are the best fuck you.

>Peak torque is at 4k
Actually, it's about at 5500. Agree on the rest, though.

You fucker. I can't believe I let you trick me into clicking on one of that guys videos. I shut it down after literally one second, but still.

Still have it?

The one i had for 7 years? No.
I have two FCs currently.
Owned around 30 something of them in the past 15 years

>Yoire better off with a heavier engine
Lmao

Daily reminder a ls or jz or rb has never ever won le mans But a rotary has
Stay btfo

>literally zero pros except for weight and size

So literally zero pros except for the most important factors in a racing car?

> literally won le mans

Another thread full of bus riders regurgitating conjecture they saw some other clueless retard shit out... typical
The user that says two engines replaced under warranty always runs away when called out on his bullshit as well Lmao

very scientific evaluation

back to retard school you nigger

According to wikipedia, the 26B engine with three spark plugs per chamber reduced fuel consumption significantly. If this is true, why didn't Mazda do this on other rotary engines like the 13B to avoid the fuel economy and emissions problems that made them put their rotary program on hold? Was it not as significant an improvement in the world of public roads as it was on at the track?

I'd have to fathom a guess and say it's because three sparkplugs would be very difficult to replace.

Also, Mazda is a much smaller company compared to the other Japanese car makers, and Japanese business is extremely cutthroat. I wouldn't be surprised if the bigger Keiretsu paid governments to forbid Mazda from working on the rotary further; they did forbid Mazda from making rotary kei cars because they'd have no advantage.

I've also read about secondary rotor chambers using the unburnt fuel in the exhaust to power themselves, which could (in theory) recover some of the lost power and improve efficiency. There seems to be a lot of unexplored paths for improving the Wankel, but no major players seem interested. Feels bad, man.

There have been plenty of major players
John deere did massive research for decades, military programs etc.. some company bought all the tech from deere and used it to rip off investors then went bankrupt and everything is dead now

I have a fiero. Don't fall for the meme. I love that car but it's exceptionally slow, doesn't brake straight, behaves fucking weird at the limit (lol midengine), isn't very efficient, and the transmission is as smooth as your pickup lines

>everything is dead now
>tfw it's not coming back
>tfw ICEs will be dead in general in your lifetime

Truly, this is the worst era.

>wanting a car that sounds like farts

I got off work faggot.
Some of us work for a living so we can actually drive the cars you talk about.

I've daily driven a rotary since 2013
You're just a meme spewing fuck tard who doesn't know shit and has probably never sat behind the wheel of an RX

Please enlighten me as to how you managed to fuck up one of the simplest rotaries to the extent of needing two engine replacements... you either drove 400k miles or are a brain dead fuck stick who, like I said, can't into 3k mile oil changes or letting it warm up before limiter bashing.

Please proceed to kys, thank you

>I'm also at work but I have the time to use my phone when I want because I'm not a burger flipping toilet scrubbing loser

Pics with timestime, bitch
>t. doesn't own a RX8
They were shit. Get over it. Better yet, use fucking google and explore the forums. My story is far from being alone.
>Oh shit, google does exist. People have documented this shit.
>oh shit, a rotary didn't win any le mans last year
Oh what a time to be alive around so many angry roleplaying faggots. Don't die from a aneurysm.

lol

>rx8club.com
>july 2006
Thank you. I needed that lol

>not changing your oil literally every 2000 miles
>not keeping a gallon of oil in your car to constantly top it off

lol plebs

>tfw I have to do this with my piston engine too
I change every 3500 though.

why does the rotary sound like chinese buzzing shit?

and people prefer this sound?

it sounds like cheap metal farting

>UPDATE as of 120211: 240110 miles
The thread was started in 2011

...

PFHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Lmao, post your rotary fuck stick seeing as you said you had one :)
Like I said, if you can't into 3k mile oil changes and not limiter bashing from a cold start then there is literally zero reason for any engine troubles let one Two replacements
Rx8s routinely go over 150k miles with NOTHING but routine maintenance (oil, spark plugs, coolant, ignition coils etc)... only issues when owned by brain dead sea lions.. so you either have no place owning any car (basic care and oil changes are sooo hard!) or are lying trough your teeth for the sake of having an argument

Now please kys

spooked a/f desu

>spazes autism
>gets caught lying
>even wiki page mentions problems I experienced.
>have to close eyes and wear headphones not to hear about issues
>poor fag who never owned a gen 1 rx8 will never know how bad the wankel really is.
>keeps baiting and dreaming anyways.

lol mk

This post is pure damage control, little babby blown the fuck out Roflmao

So where's your rx8?

i wouldn't usually post a
>sim racer
video but gigantic normie emptybox actually put out a solid video about the whole mazda le mans win and since i'm a memespouting retard who knows nothing about what happened there i learned a lot from it
youtube.com/watch?v=sQ7c12EzTDg

not an argument
nice damage control tho

>literally burned to the ground it was such a piece of shit

kek!

>keeps asking about car I had in 05
>doesn't show his
>doesn't show shop he works at
>doesn't refute any evidence I provide (see links below)
>projects damage control away from self

Take your time, I can paste a lot more if you'd like.

Not him
Ill admit the RX8 had its flaws.
But you're a sperg and moron.
The flaws weren't so bad that they couldn't be overcome by competent people.

Chill the fuck out.
If you dont like them, fine. Move along and stop making a fool of yourself.
Plenty of good running examples out there too.

>can't post a car he owned
>doesn't believe I am the touge king
>keeps posting memes and claiming they are facts

Lmao, see the link further up of the 200k+ mile 2004 rx8.. that had nothing but routine maintenance

So you gonna post your rx8 you owned for 4 years or nah? Better kys then faggot

>huur changing oil every 3k and not limiter bashing from a cold start is SOOO hard
>pppls look at these links of other stupid cunts that don't know how to look after a car!!!
Roflmao spastic cunt

>still upset the rotary engine is trash
>clearly just arguing to fight the feeling of loss
>doesn't watch the video at the top
>doesn't read the thousands of complaints about the car
>wants me to go find a 10+ year old picture of a car I didn't like and had for one (not 4) year/s.
>muh 200hp
>muh strawman arguments
>muh no true scotsman
>muh feels
sorry guys. didn't know you were so sensitive.
you don't have to read about the recall or anything, i'll let it go.
But like OP said, wankel is dead for a good reason.

>damage control
You look like an ignorant fool

olivierguerin.ca/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/projection.jpg

lol

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudolf_Diesel#Disappearance_and_death
collaborators ahoy

>two engine replacements in a single year
And you are fighting this hard to convince everyone the engine is at fault, not your inability to change oil every 3k miles or not limiter bash from a cold start

ROFLMAO LOSER

...

Also,
>Still can't prove he owned a rotary
>Still quoting wikipedia and youtube meme video as if it's a fact
>Still upset he was called out on his obvious bullshit

Roflmao, pistoncucks actually this mad

if it was shaking a lot but running, and mazda said you needed a new engine you got fucked
they had a motormount failure issue, dealers had no idea about rotary and would replace the engine. the reman engines they were getting were rebuilt wrong and contantly failing, requiring more engine replacements.
thats why everyone hates the rx8 and memes it as so unreliable. the dealers fucked it up for almost every owner

>new engine cracks a month after leaving the lot.
>didn't redline it more than once, oil fluids checked every week
>it's your fault user
>second engine seals come apart and engine compression fails
>dealership replaces engine
>It's your fault user!!!
>this is common problem on my year car.
>literally a google search away
>traded it for a miata for the wife
>had tahoe ever since
>the 2010 gene coup 3.8 was faster and a better car
>tfw a wankel loses to a fucking Hyundai

Just by reading this. Its obvious you are lying.

They should make the apex seals out of cardboard and coat them in high temperature gasket maker fluid.

>engine cracks
Yep... because that's totally a thing with rotaries... kys
