Check your coolant and thermostat, OP. The car is designed to keep the engine at a safe temperature even in stop and go traffic. You might have a partially stuck thermostat, coolant at the wrong concentration, or some obstruction, usually in the radiator itself. Also possible the radiator fan(s) are not working right.

Turning the heat on full blast really does help. The heater core is like a small radiator and will remove some of the heat.

If the heater trick is not enough to cool your car down, then in older cars with 2 fans, the other fan is controlled by the A/C unit. Turn on the A/C unit and the extra fan will turn on and cool down the radiator and you should see the temp dropping.

Not me, I just browse through the satellite radio selections. Don't even need to take eyes off the road since voice control is available. Or I can bring up the latest audiobook that I haven't finished yet.

Today's cars are like rolling computers if you picked all the options or added 3rd party gear. Even my 1997 car had voice control, so these OEM voice control and device integration features have advanced a lot since then.

This has saved me a few times. When a real tornado comes at me I set up my cars climate control to make a tornado in the reverse direction so I can safely drive through a tornado.

I remember that episode of initial d. This is when I started tempering with climate control and creating updrafts in the cab. This creates lift so I can go faster on straights. Then you reverse controls to make downward force in the cab when you get to the turn.
