>five years since release >still the same shit boxer engine >underpowered and absolutely no torque
Toyota will give it a bit more power soon guys, right? They can't make us wait too much longer now surely. It will be coming any day now I can feel it.
Nope. They will never increase the power. Let me tell you why. They don't want to eat into the performance territory of their higher margin Supra when it is released.
Logan Miller
good post
Angel Martin
But why does chevy let the camaro go as fast as it wants?
Ryan Harris
I don't think you understand what the gt86 is about
Leo Sullivan
Car has more than enough power anyway, 200bhp is plenty. Retards think that because pigfat shit like a Mustang needs 350bhp then so does a 1200kg shitbox, get real.
Chase James
But if it had 250hp or so at its weight class it'd probably wind up nearly as brisk as an FD, they weigh around as much as each other at least.
Which would be pretty fucking cool. Who cares? The Supra's probably going to be expensive enough when it comes out that we're talking about completely different demographics entirely when it comes to actually selling the things to people.
Jayden Brooks
Because the guys that want the corvette will still buy the corvette. Post bailout GM is run by engineers and everything is a COPO car now.
Grayson Kelly
Yeah hi, I was wondering if this replacement smoke is compatible with non-automotive components?
Juan Taylor
Nope sorry it's a specialist part only compatible with British Layland cars.
Cameron Parker
Alright thank you, I'll continue looking.
Chase Reyes
If you want a new car with faster acceleration, pay more.
Hunter Allen
It doesn't need a new engine. It's fine as it is
Blake Watson
I wonder if it gets a successor
Mason Gonzalez
Fuck you.
Isaac Price
GT86 competes with Corvette.
John Young
>Buy brand new BRZ Premium for 24k >Buy edlebrock SC for 5k >Sticky tires for 1k >CARB legal 86 with 250hp and 3 year warranty for 30k
Jose Stewart
>spending 5k to make 250hp
Owen Reyes
>spending 25k on a slow car >spending another 5k to make it a slightly faster slow car
Jason Cox
>27k car competes with 55k car Sure thing kiddo
Juan Cooper
Why not just do a swap on a higher mileage one?
Is there no room or something?
Camden Roberts
>implying a 250hp light weight good handling rwd coupe for 30k is a bad deal
Parker Rivera
>buy a decent car >don't have to spend an extra $5k to make slightly above average hp/displacement.
Evan Price
Why don't YOU add power to it after you buy it?
James Perry
Best thing they could do is turbo it.
Levi Taylor
Or the price goes above 30k if they do.
>inb4 joe shmoe there turbo'd it fine
These companies have to meet reliability standards to ensure they can give their warranty AND meet emission standards
Gabriel Butler
...
Matthew Bennett
>turbo increases fuel economy >model turbo after supra and take out fuckton of leg work and maintain reliability >offer the turbo as an upgrade to base model I don't see how this would go wrong? Sure it'd be a tiny twin, but turbo better than no turbo
Gabriel Thomas
NOBODY BUT YOU GIVES A FUCK. KNOW WHY YOU FAGS HATE GT86? ITS BECAUSE YOUR ENTIRE LIFE SPENT RIDING THE BUS AND GOING ON LAPTIMES.COM YOU BELIEVE YOU KNOW WHATS GOING ON AND YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF AN """""ENTHUSIAST"""".
THEN COMES ALONG GT86, A CAR THAT HAS HORRIBLE FUCKING STATS AND EVERYONE LOVES IT. IT UPSETS YOU BECAUSE ACCORDING TO ALL DATA IT IS A SHIT CAR BUT IT KEPTS BEING LOVED BY EVERYONE BUT BUSRIDING BENCHRACING FAGGOTS. YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW WHAT WAS A GOOD CAR BUT HERE IS A CAR THAT PROVES YOU WRONG, IT SHAKES YOUR WORLD VIEW AND IT HURTS.
SO YOU SHIT ON IT ENDLESSLY. YOU SHIT ON A GOOD CAR BECAUSE YOU DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT CARS AND YOU HATE IT. YOU DONT MAKE THREADS ABOUT ACTUALLY SHIT CARS YOU JUST SHIT ON A GREAT CAR BECAUSE IT PROVED TO THE WHOLE WORLD YOU´RE WRONG.
IT PROVED YOURE NOT KNOWLEDGABLE, YOU´RE NOT EVEN AN ENTHUSIAST. IT PROVED YOU´RE A SALTY, SHITTY BENCHRACER. AND THAT IS WHY GT86 IS THE GREATEST CAR IN PRODUCTION RIGHT NOW: FUN, FAST, CHEAP, AFFORDABLE, GREAT HANDLING AND IT ANGERS BENCHRACING CUNTS TO THE POINT THEY MAKE 5 THREADS A DAY.
Grayson Wright
HOLD UP. I had a 3.8 Genny Coupe. Thing was awesome. But then the road got a tiny bit wet and it slid off the Arkansas Built™ road and took out 20 feet of guard rail. The doors are damn strong on that car.
Henry Collins
>buying a Genesis coupe Literally shittier than an Ecobewst, you all fucked up
Leo Flores
>but an almost brand new car for 16k >300hp coupe >fun everytime I drive it >beat crown vic coupe off the line >beat most other sports cars off the line >beat my dads C5 to 70mph off the line >only draw back is branding The first models of the Genny Coupe were extremely underrated.
James Powell
You did good.

I expected Hyundai had shitty ebay turbos, thanks for confirming. I'm not talking about the 86, I'm talking about all the other options you had but ended up with a Fatt Korean mustang instead
Thomas Price
>driving a fugly car with an anemic v8 No thanks
Cameron Morgan
>since release Back to /v/ you benchracing faggot.
Sebastian Foster
I had the 3.8, and it was way better than some of you are giving it credit for. Plus. The interior was fucking comfy. For KDM sportscar, it was excellent. h8rs gon h8
Owen Wright
>turbo increases fuel economy
wut
The only way a turbo increases fuel economy over a larger NA is through never being in boost. If you don't drive like you're trying to get the best mpg for a fuel economy test you're not going to see better mpgs, and might see lower in some cases.
Nicholas Scott
No man, the Hyundai is worlds better than the BRZ/FRS/GT86 shit, but I would still drive a 370, Camaro or Mustang over the hyundai
Jaxson Perry
Generally, you may be correct, but it smaller engines, it helps newer heavier cars achieve better mpgs.
Oliver Gutierrez
>FordcucksBTFO >slower laptime user, you need to do some research on the word "cuck"
Sebastian Powell
If they came out with the 3.3twin like they were talking about, I'd buy that over a mustang, but the Camaro has been on top of ADM sportscars for a while now. I'd still rather have a 90's JDM though.
Noah Perez
>GT500 SuperSnake - 1:40.5 >Genesis Coupe 3.8 - 1:39.9 >Aston Martin (Ford) V8 Vantage - 1:40.73
Nathan Lee
yeah why not just buy a 911 turbo instead?
Luis Reyes
Do you not realize how much power the supersnake has you mongoloid? It's a one dimensional drag car dummy. It has no business on a track, and what year is that vantage? It looks like grasping at straws user, try again
Robert Sanchez

Caleb Foster
>muh excuses lol
Hunter Baker
Be ready for that blown engine fella, hopefully you didn't even mod it
Robert Moore
Wew lad. It's slow. Calm down.
Isaiah Morgan
>doesn't read back >already pointed out flaws of car >thinks it can't be moded safely wew
Dylan Myers
My point exactly.
Gabriel Lopez
It can't even run stock safely lol. We wonder why Korean cars offer a 10 yr/100k mile warranty, oh yeah because they are as unreliable as mini coopers
Joshua Barnes
> We wonder why Korean cars offer a 10 yr/100k mile warranty, oh yeah because they are as unreliable as mini coopers wut? LMAO m8 you're retarded 2/10 bait, You got me to respond twice
Alexander Moore
I expected a better response, I'm disappointed user.
Blake Cooper
>expecting garbage to go fast
William Garcia
I think this car is good if you spend under 15k on it. Slightly bigger than a miata but still small and light for today. Plus I've seen these things run autocross and clean up more powerful cars like wrexys/m4s pretty well. About 1200 needs to be factored into your budget for the torque dip though.
Samuel Bell
DELET
Cooper Mitchell
You really are a twat hu? The reason for the 10 year 100k is because they believe in their cars. I've had mine 3 years 2 with tune and never had a issue. 2013 gen coupe
Jordan Russell
Maybe we should continue to talk about why a 30k car with 200 hp is just plain stupid?
Owen Allen
...
Henry Jenkins
No, it's so that "possible" buyers have a little reassurance when buying Korean trash, it's not a meme that Hyundai is unreliable. >t. Butthurt Hyundai owner
David Bailey
AE86 is also slow, but Gt86 is faster. It's the driver who makes car go faster.
Oliver Miller

>old vehicles user, stop posting you are making some cool genesis owners look like jackasses
Xavier Howard
Why doesn't it mention what year of those vehicles...
Jacob Jones
I'm just copying it as the website displays it. For a car you can buy for 16k that competes with cars thousands of dollars more expensive and half a decade newer, I'd call it a overall success. 10x better than flat 4 hotwheel.
Andrew Young
You obviously don't know anything about hyundai, when the originally CEO stepped down in 2011 the two new CEOs stepped in and made shit happen, but enjoy your shit tier mustangs, ford is a ford, and Ford Owner Really Dumb
Evan Allen
So many better reliable options, enjoy your tin can engines
Logan Sullivan
>being THIS assmad Lap times don't mean shit dude. You of all people should know this
Ayden Scott
>not uncommon to see hyundai to hit 100k miles without work >ford cannot say the same wewwwwwww sorry lad, maybe some ointment would help.
Brayden King
Maybe a few Hyundai econoboxes, not the Genesis that's for fucking sure, Ford isn't all that well either but still a far better option than Korean crap
Zachary Campbell
>lap times aren't a metric of performance >Hyundai Genesis competes with Mustang GT and out performes turbo 4's. >Tokyo Drift Meme Merchant is angry lol you can't make this shit up
Isaiah Baker
Assmad GM fangirl detected
Jonathan Hall
>over 5 years old >Still beats the focus RS, BMW M2, and Camaro v6 in recent comparison test
What did they mean by this?
Henry Hill
Absolutely not. Guess you just can't handle being this wrong
Hunter Jones
My friend bought the 2.0T the same time I bought my 3.8 His company reimbursed him for gas and he used it for business racking 120k miles on it He treated it like dog shit Sold it without any problems or repairs Anecdotal but directly contradicts your opinion
Tyler Stewart
I hope the new base model supra comes with a turbo i4 (250hp), weighs 2800lbs and cost around $35k
Justin Williams
>focus RS, BMW M2, and Camaro v6 >literally who: the cars
>brz >shit Have fun drifting in your civic. Oh wait, you can't
Cameron Adams
Keep holding your breath
Samuel Adams
civic is faster, every rwd car with normal power drifts better, 9.9/10 cars drive faster >brz is good car
Aiden Brooks
damn, $40k is a bit high.
I have a sinking feeling it's going to be turbo4 260hp / 3300lbs / no lsd for the base model.
As it stands, for 40k, I'd only be interested if it was 270hp, less than 3k lbs & comes with lsd/6 speed manual
Gabriel Wood
Literally the only reason they refuse to add power to the toyobaru and used the engine that they did was because it would jeopardize future Supra sales. The chassis is great and it will be one hell of a shell to slap new engines into in 20 years but until you start seeing them on CL for $5k running there's no fucking point.
Gimped to protect future upscale offerings. Killed the F-4X, killed the toyobaru. Shameful.
Asher Reyes
That pic is wrong though considering it has done 8:19 which is pretty good for 200hp on the burgerking
That's BTG. BTG is about 20-30 seconds shorter than full lap
Robert Hernandez
a miata with 160 hp goes 7:58 BTG lol
Adam Johnson
Oh I thought those were btg times.
It's fukken slow then.
Jackson Cruz
A modded miata
John Morgan
Too new, no kits or harnesses and you can't buy rolling chassis. Wait ten years. It'll be the S13 of 2030 except you can't boost the stock engine.
Chase Wright
Ya, sure, little more than the BRZ. But both had brake pads and tires, which are most important.
Austin Martinez
It had a suspension set up for the track and weight reduction. The BRZ was still running the stock suspension tuned for comfort on the streets. It's a big difference. The Miata was also driven by a pro
