For some reason people think that gravity on the moon still pulls people t earth, and that you can simply drop things from the moon. They also think you can just drop things from orbit and they'll fall straight down

And you can drop a thing in orbit and it will eventually fall down.
Depending on what kind of orbit, it could take anywhere from zero to millions of years to lithobrake.

If the new heavy lifter works I see nothing stopping a simple single lunar orbit.
