big block is best block
never forget it op

I don't know. Never heard of the "Small Bock". Sounds like shit desu.

its hard to hate
>8.8-litre V8 engine and nearly 900hp

youtube.com/watch?v=FKOki34YkK4

big block is superior

fine then. Is the Chevrolet Small Block family of engines the best engines ever made?

and you can always turbo it if you need to.
>those headers

of course not
the big blocks are.

>What is an LS-series engine

I came.

its a generation of small blocks

>Bruce Mclaren himself fell for the $500 and an afternoon maymay

That was beautiful

LS7 sucessor when

>150 HP

dem were the days.

>not knowing that manufactures detuned and under rated their engines

Americans couldnt make a car worth a shit for like 13 years from 1973-1986

>130 hp 4.9l V8s
>150 hp 5.9L V8s
>150 hp from a turbo 4.9L V8

the cars were so shit it damaged their reputation for 40 years

that doesnt make it any less slow.

I'll bite emissions KILLED GMs motors back then, but the 305 is a worthless motor to begin with.

Their engines just got cucked by smog/emissions equipment.

that doesnt make sense though

Euro and Japanese companies had to put up with the same standards in the US and they came out just fine

the problem is American car companies tried to cheap out and made garbage

>Chevy 350 Small Block best ever
>Not the Olds 350 Small Block.
C'mon man, everyone knows that the Olds 350 is the GOAT

>best engine ever made?
Yes. By burgers.

>By burgers.
Obviously.

>Euro and Japanese companies had to put up with the same standards in the US and they came out just fine
>came out just fine

Bull. They had their issues too. There's more than one reason grey-market Mercedes were a thing in the early Eighties. Getting a Euro model meant you got a nice power boost while being cheaper. Then there's the totally cucked thermal reactor BMW's. Audi wasn't even on the map after their Fox fiasco of the Seventies so nobody cared about them. As for the Japs they started from virtually nothing and so anything they did was an improvement over what had been before. It was only the American domestics that had been flying so high only a few years before being viewed as laid low by emission regs when it fact everybody was.

kek they werent that impressive anyway

bunch of gross hp bs ratings that mean nothing in the real world

>Bull. They had their issues too

sure they did every car company did during the oil crisis but goddamn

Aston Martin was making 286 hp in US spec in 1978 using a 5.3L while a goddam Z28 was making 185 hp from a 5.7L

b-but muh costs

gtfo American companies where a shit

>he doesn't know what a grand national is

an appearance package for Buick Regals

sure the GNX was a hot car but it came about in 1987

>In 1982, the Regal Grand National debuted, which was named for the NASCAR Winston Cup Grand National Series

>RPO WE2 Grand National Appearance Package

Grand Nationional isnt the same as Grand National Experimental

Of the 215 Regal Grand Nationals produced in 1982, at least 35 were based on the Buick Regal Sport Coupe package with the turbocharged 3.8 V6 engine

the engines available were the same, isn't that what this was originally about or are you going to keep moving goalposts?

but Regal Sport coupes were still anemic shitboxes

they didnt get quick until the GNX came out

unless you want to think running 16s with a turbo 3.8 V6 is impressive

>continues to move goalposts

Ok

I havent moved a single goal post motherfucker

I know what a Grand National is and its nothing impressive

Yeah, whatever dude. Go back to obsessing over your thousand year old corolla that you're totally going to get when you get your license.

>Aston Martin was making 286 hp in US spec in 1978 using a 5.3L while a goddam Z28 was making 185 hp from a 5.7L

And which one is still running till this day? America stronk.
