because that's what it looks like

do it faggot

Because it's a Sky.

Who gives a shit? If it's fun it's fun.
Is that the only reason prices on them are so low and they're rarely discussed about?

I think the Sky looks great

where the hell are you finding a Sky for less than $5,000? I can't find one within 500 miles of me for less than $7,000, and that's including wrecked ones.

Socal.

...

>turbo only goes slightly faster than the N/A
>gets worse MPG
>costs more to maintain
>requires premium fuel

Why would you pay 20-40% more to drive a car that's only 10% faster?

>turbo only goes slightly faster than the N/A
wut,
The turbo makes 260 HP while the N/A makes 172.
The turbo could out-accelerate a Porsche Boxster.

fuckin do it are you insane?

Even if it's just to buy it to resell

Before you buy it, make sure you can confirm whether or not factory hardtops are available OR roll bar installations are possible without completely mangling the vehicle. Any true roadster enthusiast is going to want to track it at some point and you'll need a roll bar.

>make sure you can confirm whether or not factory hardtops are available
Nope. Hardtops were never available

>OR roll bar installations are possible without completely mangling the vehicle
Car already comes from the factoery with an integrated structural rollbar. Why do you think it has those raised humps behind the seatbacks?

This, and the solstice, also get big discontinued GM "so it's rare and valuable" tax.

I can find '09 Camaro convertibles in better condition for similar prices in the bay.

>I can find '09 Camaro convertibles
no you can't

Maybe a non-S from 1997

I've never seen a turbo that cheap. You are getting scammed.

Because that last point is a blatant falsehood

Those rollback are usually never good enough. Most tracks and autocross course require you to install a rollback extension

2007 Saturn Sky Redline Compare Car 0-60 mph 5.1 | Quarter mile 14.0

2005 (they didn't have the 07 non S) Porsche Boxster Compare Car 0-60 mph 5.9 | Quarter mile 14.5

2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe Compare Car 0-60 mph 5.1 | Quarter mile 13.5

2007 (no 09 time, but it was the same car) Porsche Boxster S Compare Car 0-60 mph 4.9 | Quarter mile 13.2

>porsche
>$50k msrp
LOL

Boxsters and Caymans got completely different engines in 2009, they not the same car at that point since the non S cars make as much power as the old S cars

And how's the handling on that porker of a roadster? Because if you want something fast in a straight line you should just get a Mustang

Msrp for the Boxster was like $40k back in 2005

Also mid engine, lighter, better handling, nicer interior
>but muh 0-60 times
Fuck off

I honestly see no reason not to.
Only reason is its an american car pretending not to be american and you'll be contributing to the american cars losing their identity and just opting to be american designed and made chinese clones of euro/jap cars.

>American cars git gud
>"They're losing their identity!"

>moving the goal post
You were wrong, deal with it. The sky was a good car for the price. Just kind of ugly.

>trying to goal post defend a $60k car (s model) against a $30k car.

I see reading comprehension isn't your strong suit

>nicer interior
Confirmed for never having owned a boxster. That interior was SHIT in 05.

>2005 Boxster S MSRP $57k
caranddriver.com/reviews/2005-porsche-boxster-s-long-term-road-test

>I see you don't accept my bullshit statements and faggoty opinions

FTFY

Except it wasn't. If you said a 1997-2004 then you would have been right, but you didn't

>sky redline
>$5k

pick one

I think it looks cool

Nah maybe you're right, go ahead and buy your unicorn Sky Redline for $5k

Remember to make a thread when the engine blows up in your face

It literally was. KYS faggot with shit taste. That interior was horrible.

>such refinement
>such class
>no plastic shit for your $60k
>so amaze!

Seems you've never actually sat in anything other than a bus in your life

>says the guy who thinks THAT is a nice interior
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAAH

Looks fine to me. Did you want massaging Napa leather seats in a lightweight sportscar?

because it's actually an N/A

The Boxter isn't a lightweight sportscar.
It's a "I can't afford a Porsche" Porsche.

>3k lbs in a tiny 2 seater
>lightweight
LOL.

>hurrr da interior is so fucking nice
>I mean it looks fine
>it's only $60k but I'll shit all over a $30k car with basically the same performance
>but the more expensive car is better
>cuz muhh feels!

Crazy thought.... Maybe the sky/solstice isn't as bad as you were trying to make it out to be, and the boxster isn't as good. But that would be impossible to admit on an anonymous board, right faggot?

You're only making yourself look like a mouth breather, friend

>Veeky Forums is one person
Nice try kiddo.

>Ecotec
>blowing up

Nigga you dumb

>0-60 times
>only measure of performance

Enjoy setting those blistering times at the drag strip in your NA, I mean turbocharged $5k Sky

At the price OP is expecting yes

Do your hands hurt? From grasping at all those straws?

If only high mileage, you're wrong
If trashed, more than likely but those LNFs in the Kappa twins were stout little fuckers

That's literally all he talked about though, straight line performance

You guys know there's more to a sports car than numbers right? Otherwise the Genesis Coupe would actually be good

>thinks reliable ecotec will blow up
>says porsche is better
yeah, those super reliable and cheap to repair boxsters. hahahahaha.

>27% chance of engine failure due to crankshaft from 2000-2008

I live that no matter which parts people mention failing the failure rate always go up when they talk about it online

What else do you want faggot? Looks are subjective. The saturn will be cheaper to run. Cheaper to insure. It's turbo so it's easier to mod if you want. It's not a fucking track car so who cares about "muhhh lap times." It's got more trunk space. It's about the same size. What the fuck do you want?

It's actually a big thing in the porsche world. The failure rate is pretty god damn high.

Go drive them both and tell me witch one actually feels better to drive

And the Boxster has 2 trunks, so it's still more practical
Cheaper to insure to since the average demographic is going through a midlife crisis

>27%
Yeah no, you pulled that number out of your ass
>crankshaft
You didn't even get the part right. Some guy in the Porsche general did a write up about the problem and the reality of it. I'd tell you to read it but it might be too many words for you

>mmuuhhh feeelllllssssssssssss

>huurrr you didn't use da porsche term!!!! it's da intermediate shaft....attached to the fucking crank

Just anhero all over your desk faggot.

Guess the camshafts are the same thing as the crankshaft then, as you said they're connected together

>muh feels
Why else would you buy a roadster? That's literally the whole point of them

You fucking retard

Are you implying feelings aren't subjective?

>Go get food
>Take shower
>Get back on o
>You're still defending the boxster

Let it go dude.

Nah the engine is all one thing since a the parts are connected test together. If one thing doesn't work right then you gotta scrap it and get a new one

Actually may as well get a new car because the engine is connected to that as well

>Available for

>knows about feels for cars he's never driven

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Ecotec_engine#2.0_LNF
not a very common engine

Sprint customer detected

>5k
Try 10k for one that's worth your time.
They're nice cars

Kappas are surprisingly well designed for a roadster.

>Why shouldn't I?
Because you can get an NSX with 10HP more for 10x as much. 10 for 10 bro.

Just get a Toyota 2000GT for $1,000,000

That interior is perfect.

Clean
Flat
Simple

Apparently you need some Pontiac bulges and ripples and shit

THANKS FOR DERAILING THE THREAD FAGGOTS

Anyways, I am actually surprised that they didn't sold that well

>And how's the handling on that porker of a roadster?
They're no heavier than your beloved Boxster. The Kappa twins got double wishbone suspension at all 4 corners, so they can do handling. In fact, the kappa twins have ben very successful in grassroots racing and drifting. They're actually pretty dominant in SCCA racing.

>he wants gadgets and meme interiors

Sorry but all the bullshit they put in stuff like a Fusion titanium is ugly, designed to pull cash out of normies , and adds zero value to the experience.

Unless you are buying a luxury yacht to drive around business clients there is no point in caring about interior. Just look up old cadillac interiors and see how poorly those aged as well.

Literally 1% and that's only the cars that weren't deiven

>no V8
>only 60lbs lighter than a corvette c6

Sure, but can you pick up a Corvette for 5k?

You can't pick up a sky redline for 5k so what is your point?

Wanna know what's rediculous? Check out the prices on the Solstice Coupes, averaging $30k

The nice thing about Porsches is that they can be optioned to hell and back. You could get the whole thing wrapped in leather from the factory if you wanted.
