this WILL sound gay as fuck but i gotta say this out.
I never played Ace Combat during my childhood and never even know they existed up until a month ago when someone linked the pixy battle in zero on a "post God-tier final bosses" thread on /v/ and because of that i was interested.
i was on a hard decision between either getting the yakuza games that i was saving up for or jump into Ace Combat, but then the opportunity just showed itself when i found on ebay 5 (five) fucking AC games (1,3,4,5 and 0) AND the hori flight-stick all for motherfucking $50. i knew the flight-sticks were worth over $100 so i got it and waited for the package.
i listened to Zero and Unsung war OSTs for days and days waiting for the package. when it arrived i immediately jumped in 0, the game that introduced me to all of this and was stuck on it for a full month before realizing i got other AC games to play. it was fucking mind-blowing and the final boss was exactly as i expected, just pure kino. i'm currently about to start AC5 excited for the SOLG battle.
and all that on-top of it having a general that isn't dipped in autism. its got chill buddies and comfy streams along with actual creativity (Patch guy, AC-Inspired game, open source etc.) and most of all making AC:I actually fun instead of a depressing Micro-transaction RNG-ed game.

Are the PS2 games fully playable on emulators? I've only played 5 and I want to play 4 and Zero before 7 is released, but I can't find any copies of them new or used anywhere in my city
Specs are i5 4460, R9 380X and 8 gb ddr3 if that matters

5 and Zero works very well on hardware mode (mipmapping support still isn't available on the latest stable build last time I checked, so you'll have to grab a dev build but it works well)
4 only works properly in software mode so it's very CPU-heavy and it might slow down when playing in third person or cockpit view. Virtual cockpit works well enough though.

I just played 4 on a recent dev build, it works decently when you enable MTVU under speedhacks, but like said, expect slowdown when seeing weather effects, slowdown in third person, slowdown in cockpit...
For what it's worth, I'm also still running a 1st gen i7, so you may be better off than I was.
