Pretty shit. Enjoy your fuel spiders and Dexcool compromised gaskets, glass 4l60 trans, and Fisher-Price grade interior plastics.

Deep down you know how bad it is, user.

Pretty shit

Same but i will say those fucking 4.3s, while shit, were dependable.

>fuel spiders

>Enjoy your fuel spiders
This isn't fucking Australia

Weed dealer/10

This is disgusting. How do you get rid of them?

I thought you meant the spider that were attracted to evap cans

Later trucks switched to MPFI with 6 individual fuel injectors, but that switch didn't happen until 2003 IIRC.

They kind of are. When it leaks it drains into the oil. And if the fuel pressure is slightly too low the poppets won't open. If you spend the $600 on a quality replacement they last quite a while. The 4.3 is still a pretty beasty motor.

op here,
i changed the coolant on it like 7 days ago,
it still had dexcool in it and it was just getting brown, still no real thick particulates in it. it's got green coolant now, stayed clean so far
it's only got 140k miles and it's a 98, bought it for 1100$ offa dude on craigslist. 2wd, which is nice. i also put a tank o premium and stp fuel injector cleaner in it so hopefully thatll help.
also, soon after i bought it the fuel pump went. replaced it for 50$ and 2ish hrs of work

this car broke me.
i had a 1998 4-door Chevy Blazer
bought it in 2008.
i had a job that was about 16mi away from my home.
i averaged about 16mi/gal
i was spending about $45/6 days

it was a 10yr old car when i bought it.
previous owner kept it in pretty good shape.
i didn't know anything about cars and didn't care about maintenance.
i wouldn't replace anything unless it pretty much disintegrated and made my car inoperable.

needed a new water pump. simple fix....i never fixed it until it pretty much fell off.
i drove with 2 jugs of water.
had to fill up the radiator with water whenever i needed to go to work.
had to fill it up again when it was time to go back home.
this happened for about 5 months before i decided to fix it. my brother-in-law loosened a bolt and the whole then fell right off.

i needed 2 new wheel-bearing hubs
loud metal on metal screeching.
meh. whatever.
2 months go by.
check engine light goes off.
meh whatever.
screeching screeching screeching screeching
fine.
replace them after about 3 or 4 months.

catalytic converter needed to be replaced.

overheated.
meh.
put more water.
1 month later.
more over heating.
put more water.
1 month later
driving to work.
notice the temps are >200F....again goddamnit
at a red light.
homeless man pointing at my car.
its smoking.
greenlight.
pull over to the store.
gushing radiator fluid everywhere.
put more water in it.
water flowing right out.
call father.
we tow it home.
get a mechanic
blown manifold gasket.
replace the manifold gasket
luckily everything is fine

get another check engine light.
EVAP leak.
cracked o-ring (forget where)
go to all the local auto-parts shops. no o-ring that matches my exact o-ring
fuck it.
get 2 smaller o-rings from the autoparts store.
shove it in.
(check engine light came on about 4 other times before i sealed it in place)

replaced the battery two or three times.
damn thing never could hold a charge. not sure why.
i would go to my car during my 15min breaks at work. guess the battery would drain in 30mins.

alternator once.

gas pump died twice.
2nd time it died, i said fuck it and drove it to the nearest car dealership and bought a brand new car.

i had this car for about 3 or 4 years.
i had the check engine light go off at least once a month during the last 2 years.
i still have anxiety while driving my current car. literally every single day i think today is the day that the check engine light will come on.
it has never come on. my current car is now 4.5 years old. bought it brand new because i didn't want to deal with the hassle of a used car.
i learned a lot with that car.
i spent countless hours on car forums and youtube finding out how to replace car parts.

lol yeah my radiator coolant was always rusty brown.
never knew why.
never cared to fix it.

Pretty much all older GM's are like this. Unless you get one pre-owned by an old couple that took care of it, It's probably going to be a nightmare. My $500 S10 blazer was the same. Still got my moneys worth out of it though, She was a fun truck when she ran right.

i liked it but it made me realize that i don't need an SUV.
16mi/gal is stupid.
car felt way too big for me as well.

my current car is a Mazda2.
sub compact car.
tiny little thing.
very underpowered.
damn thing feels so cheap...because it is.
but it was cheap and it feels like a city car and it gets 30mi/gal.
at a red light, it feels like it takes 20 seconds before it gets to 60.
once it hits 60...it reminds me to go on amazon and by $200 worth of sound dampening material.
i just dont want to spend a weekend ripping everything out of the car to install that stuff. im still a lazy fuck

fuck me, used to have a 95 blazer
shit wouldn't start in the morning at least 2 days a week
christ, i'm sorry for your loss OP

Bu-Bu-Bu the 4.3 is god tier reliable. It's like a tree fiddy with 2 cylinders shaved off. It goes 300k no problem.

engine goes fine, it's the fucked injectors, corroded fuel and brake lines, and fucked gas tank i don't want to deal with

It's 20 years old. I haven't had fuel line issues, but rusted brake lines and gas tanks are going to happen to about anything at that age if it's spent any time in salt.

THE G STANDS FOR GETS

Shoulda got an exploder instead senpai
