I play on PC, open NAT type, wired Ethernet, 80-90 ping on average when in any other game it's like 40.
I think it's literally just uplay has trash servers

Echo should be 3 speed because it makes sense with his gadget and having a forced suppressor makes no sense from a point defense design

Not sure if it's still this way, but I remember there being a pane of glass over those parts, and you're able to place the thermal charge on the glass in much the same way as being able to place breaching charges on panes of glass that are over barricades.

Yes, every day. Wifi connection with 40 download/20 upload consistently, sub-20 ping to EUS (closest datacenter) every time I login, Open NAT, yet get 60-80 ping in matches and lag like shit.

What other games similar to Siege does /r6g/ like to play?

Mostly, I just want to virtually fondle virtually well-modelled guns, but all I really have for that is Red Orchestra 2, and it gets boring using WWII weapons all the time.

Why is every gun in R6S frankensteined? Why is there not a decent weapon selection? It seems like state of the art operators are busier fondling Cold War era relics than they are using state of the art technology.

Really wish I had that money for one of the Jap operators with the Type 89 though.

Maybe they're just used to what they know and would rather use that with which they are already properly acclimatized with than to spend time fiddling with something new

It's like half of the roster though. And it doesn't take that long to get acclimated to a new weapon system.

I know if I had access to a gun that shot the same caliber in the same way but was 2 lbs lighter I'd flock to that.

The only one who really makes sense for me is Tachanka since he is a weapons collector.

Realistically, a team like Rainbow Six wouldn't be running around in mismatched uniforms and limited to weaponry from whatever CTU they were pulled from

It feels like the weapon variety is lacking imo, but I guess I'm just used to basically accessoring my soldiers in some games.

It probably feels lacking because you can only use most guns on the specific operator. There's a decent amount of gun variety, it's not the best but it's certainly there.

I mean variety more in the sense that certain characters being limited to certain guns means you aren't picking the same weapon for all characters every time and that for the most part you'll be using different weapons from one operator to the next

Sometimes when my team is a special kind of retard, not your average every day "why didn't you shoot him he was right there" retard, but a very special "doesn't reinforce the objective roam, then goes to roam and all of them get shot immediately withing like 5 seconds" retard, I just like to play hide and seek with the enemy, and see if they're able to find me.

Obvious answer is insurgency. The player models and some environments look awful, but the guns are very well detailed. There is a steam workshop where you can replace your gun in multiplayer, like I changed my m4a1 into a L85 with a mod. Also a new version of insurgency with a whole graphics rework and competitive play is coming soon. I think it is called Insurgency: Sandstorm off the top of my head

Also, there is the new Rising Storm 2: Vietnam in the works by the people who made RO2.

Apart from Siege, I've been playing some indie games like Factorio, Frozen Synapse and Jalopy. To have some variety, you know. I also beat the new Hitman a while back.

The only ones similar to Siege I've played recently are Frozen Synapse, XCOM2 with Long War 2, and the classic R6 games.

The HK416 was chosen as the replacement to the FAMAS
They had been going through testing for quite a while, before whittling it down to 5 weapons (HK416, FN SCAR, VHS-2, SG550 and the ARX-160) of which it then came down to the first two and the HK416 was finally chosen.
I'm disappointed that in the end we don't really have any major firearm producers left in France and that instead we have to rely on foreign guns.
I'm at least glad they didn't go with the ARX-160 purely because it's such an ugly looking gun

The Croatian VHS-2 was one of their choices, but they ultimately didn't end up going with it
