What happened to the last /godmachine/ thread? Veeky Forums still couldn't accept that the Ford Raptor was the best off road vehicle ever built.

I like the raptor as a dune buggy/race truck. As an offroader it leaves a lot to be desired. The power's in the wrong rev range, the wheel base is too long, the truck's too wide, and it can't climb rocks very well.

THIS was Ford's best offering for an offroad vehicle.

I see this posted around Veeky Forums a lot. I want to do that with my 97 ranger one day.
It's lighter than the raptor so that's a bonus, right? What does the raptor have over my ranger besides the bigger engine?

The Ranger's engine's better suited for off-road shenanigans anyway.

The Ranger is a better starting truck for actual off road use. you can get a lunchbox locker for under $500 and if you have good tires you're already on par as far as mechanical capability goes

far better suited with a lower range t-case and torque in the low end from the Cologne V6
