Don't bother. Marienburg is a pure money province and Nordland will almost always finish off Marienburg for you while providing a nice buffer zone to Skaeling fucks before Chaos arrives

Holding something in place. I used the Tattersouls plus Volkmar and put them in front of my line, which was otherwise just regular swordsmen and handgunners in triplex acies (meme formation). The flagellants would pin at least 3 units of infantry about 20m in front of my line, the swordsmen would eat the rest of the charge and the handgunners would finish them off. They'd often die, but since they were a RoR you could just recruit them again instantly the next turn.

Proof right there that's ze Lady is always watching.

Use just the (building buffed) garrison and they will attack pretty often after building some siege equipment. You should win almost every time. Dwarfs are particularly good at this because the basic units are good.
