A thread devoted to the appreciation all classics regardless of nationality or condition.
In which we:
>Blog about electrical gremlins >Pray to the carb gods >Curse the very thought of vaporlock >Argue about Ford vs. Chevy vs. Mopar vs. AMC vs International >Learn new stuff >Try to bash learnin' into Kit Kat's thick skull
>tfw pull the Lincoln into the shop so I can grease the front end and U-joints and the left rear shock literally starts to drip oil out as I bring it in
Well, time for new shocks all around I guess. At least I can get the pretty cheap through the work discount at Napa

great pics man. seeing the progress on that truck makes me so happy.
Henry White
Picked this up a month ago. 9/10 exterior 7/10 interior (race stripped, no heater/ac) Engine swapped for a 347 Stroker making 460bhp
What would /o prioritize doing to it to make it a reliable and safe daily driver?
Nathan Adams
Let it be known, this is very much my first classic and I truly have next to no idea what I am doing. Was considering swapping the recirculating ball steering for a modern rack and pinion. Maybe power steering? Or is that a bitch move?
Adam Rodriguez
>to make it a reliable and safe kill the douchebag in the picture
Colton Nelson
>he fell for the Corinthian meme
Isaiah Harris
Can I play with you guys? I-it says classic right on the trunk lid...
Juan Thomas
Finally ready to build my 347. Any thoughts/comments on my parts list before I order?
Please don't daily it. When you crash, it'll be awful, and commuting will be hell.
Just take 'er out on weekends
Nicholas Long
Take it from someone that daily drives a classic. Buy a fucking Honda, you stupid asshole. It's great to have a toy you can appreciate, but god dammit kid daily a beater.
Easton Young
>reliable buy a shitbox to daily >safe buy a shitbox to daily
you wont forgive yourself if you crash it, it might get stolen, they're really hard to daily drive if you're running non standard parts and engines so its harder to keep on top of repairs
I force myself to drive an 04 Falcon everyday
David Walker
So I've got a question about detailing these old cars. From what I've seen the paint on them appears to be a single coat acrylic with no other sealants or protectives in it. What is a safe way to care for the paint?

Just got my first quote for my 403 build, 1500 without any work to the stock heads yet, and that's if the cylinders don't need bored.

>love big comfy American barges >know a place that sells them >gas is 1,5€/L so not happening anytime soon Can these things run on LPG or something
Eli Morris
Where are you from?
Anthony Johnson
Italy. The cheapest I've seen this year was 1,349€/L and that was for a couple days
Isaac Martin
Yes they do run on lpg, I guess you are european just like me so my advice is that you just pay more for gas and drive them on vikends becouse from my experience and experiences from my friends who also own american cars these systems are expensive, they have to go on regular services, not really reliable, takes a lot of room and you cant park in underground garages and sometimes you can sense the smell of gas in the car. Also the system fucked my jeep 4,7. I personally think lpg systems are rubish. I dont know about your country but where i live classics have 90% discount on all the taxes so with gas money included my chevy caprice is still cheaper to run than fucking twingos(if you exclude the tires, oil and other yearly basic maintinence stuff). Also I dont know why the fuck are you concerned about fuel consumption, americans were producing the best overall cars up until the 90s(now they are back at it) so if you can't feed it dont buy it becouse people like you usually enjoy letting the car rot in the garage after the purchase and dont destroy it with stupid lpg
Yes, just before General International's last charge.
Matthew Wright
Thanks, bro.

I could tell by the sepia tone and the fact that no one was smiling. Was this near the Battle Of The Straight 6?
Jordan Gutierrez
My baby
Ryan Gomez
Little known fact: it was actually the battle of Oil Run, where the General International's leaky valve covers saved the day by causing several enemy units to totally spin out in rad fashion.
Joseph Gomez
>when you keep finding more and more questionable rust
First my pinch welds now my floor plan
Kevin Green
get out the sheet metal grinder and mig gun
Angel Harris
Once i gather all the parts for a 4 speed swap i'm going to wicked on that floor.
Josiah Williams
make sure you buy gas. You can't weld sheet metal with fluxcore wire.
Well you can, but it'll be swiss cheesed to fuck.
Carter Watson
>find this in the ads during the holidays >torn between 'rationally moving on' and 'a fucking hearse daily driver' >considered making a call today >suddenly the ad is gone And another one slips away.
Hunter Carter
Everyone who was telling that dude not to daily a classic are all huge faggots btw
Justin Russell
well, he's not wrong
Leo Perez
How much have you got into this project all in?
Ethan Hernandez
About $400 in parts and a $2000 car if you don't count the V8 that's sitting around
Parker Morris
I daily drive a classic; it's great. Gas cost is the only downside.
Let me know if you want any specifics.
Carson Morgan
what kind of porn specifically do you like
Christian Jackson
Not sure why you'd want to know THAT; I meant that I'd answer any questions about daily driving classic cars.
Elijah King
I know what I want to know
Parker Moore
Has anyone here driven a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner? Are they any good? Would Veeky Forums recommend buying one?
Grayson Campbell
if u got nothing to hide u got nothin to fear
it's a Detroit-made RWD V8. It'll be fine.
That said, knowing Mopars the cowl is going to be rusty and if the kickdown was mis-timed the transmission is on its way to blowing up.
Landon Brooks
Just bought this yesterday. 1964 meteor. Frame solid, three small patches needed in trunk pan & floor. Runs & drives. Paid 1800 CAD. What does Veeky Forums think, am I winning or did I fuck up?
Tyler Hernandez
Sorry about the upside down. I don't know why that happens
Ian Morris
Well, I was planning to pretty much turn the thing into a proper race car for track days, but thanks for letting me know that.
David Bennett

Ok; honestly, I hate porn. After I had actual experiences with a woman, I found the stories they created too contrived, the women over-the-top and and insufferable; the whole experience was something I wasn't able to tolerate. The only thing I can stand are VNs.
Jace Gomez
The preious owner had done some work in it. Rear differential and transmission is from an impala ss, and he had the computer reprogrammed to remove the limiters and improve performance. Was a fast beast until my vacuum line rotted. Gonna get them replaced soon, just gotta gather the materials to make new lines.
Dominic Johnson
You guys ever use discord?
William Jackson
What's discord?
Also, what do you guys think of dropping this bad Larry on my international? It's pretty close to period correct.
Elijah Nelson
No, stop shilling shit like this. Just post in the fucking thread. If people wanted to post about classic cars with names they'd go to Reddit. Tripfags and namefags can off themselves
This, this general exists for a reason, there's no reason to use some shitty other site.

Basically it's an IM client with voice and vidya gayme support. It was originally for gamers, but not so much anymore.
Yeah, it's k. Better than IRC because you don't lose messages when you're away, and better than Faecesbook because it's not pigfat. I just use it for chatting with my friends though.

I've been out of the loop on your truck, you're just sanding the black down right?

Except it's a Chinese botnet that funnels your data to advertising companies. Everything you say or type is used as marketing. It's funded by a Chinese corporation notorious for data mining, and nobody seems to find it odd that it suddenly boomed in popularity despite there being significant, entrenched competition in the VOIP segment.
Furthermore, browser-based software is awful, depriving you of the right to know what the software is doing in your computer. You might as well spread your asshole and shove a big red Chinese dildo up it.
Caleb Cooper
Removing it with lacquer thinner. The hood was primed so it's the hardest part. The rest wasn't prepped at all, so it wipes right off.
I've been neglecting the Impala lately. I have no idea why, I fucking love this car. The new paint job makes me love it even more. It so quiet and comfortable compared to the International.

Nice 'Bird. I love these late '70's cruisers. I know the same platform was used for the Ranchero, the Lincoln Mark V, and there was also an LTD coupe. What's under the hood? 351W? Also love that it's rocking the "opera" window.
Cameron Thompson
Not mine but it's a 77 and I believe that there's a 351 in it. This 79 is mine
