All his good videos are behind a paywall, I don't fuck with him anymore.
until he finishes the fairmont yeah.
i give him props for doing a build right though. unlike other youtube cucks that spend a weekend on a build and half ass it or pay mexicans to build it for them.
I don't think it should take 100 videos. His Fairmont Project playlist is at 76, and he said he has at least 20 to go.
>paying for content on a free website
no
He can't adapt to the changing times, so his channel kind of deserves to fail.
Hopefully this means annoying shithead vloggers have to go get real jobs too. It sucks that good channels will die, but imo it's worth it if it means Vehicle Virgins/subaruwrxfan/furfag"reviews" fail too.
What's wrong with vehicle virgins?
Chrisfix is the new hotness. His DIY videos are great. He even tried to go a different route and build a cheap drift car and try to drift. Eric and Steve would never ever do that.
I'm glad someone else here likes ChrisFix. I don't know why Veeky Forums hates this guy.
Veeky Forums seems to like him honestly
>He can't adapt to the changing times
This is what's going to kill tons of these mechanics channels.
You can't just keep making mechanics 101 videos forever, it's all been done before now.
Like said, ChrisFix tries to shake things up instead showing someone how to change their oil for the 100000000000x. His Driftstang project is kind of fun to watch.
Likely. Unfortunate though, as he's definitely one of the more knowledgeable YouTube mechanics.
Might depend what he does with the Fairmont project. Hell, maybe he'll take part of Rob Spaghettis October challenge. He wouldn't even stand a chance against Spaghetti or the other Rob 4rotor, but it'd be interesting.
>I'm going to go suggest Eric on Rob Spaghettis website form
Is Eric right when he says YouTube makes it so people aren't alerted to his videos?
Maybe I should catch up on some of his newer videos, as an actual mechanic he came across like he knew fuck all and was guessing his way through videos unless it was something service related on a honda.
He's an annoying cunt. And it seems like he never works on any cars, only drives around and records himself complaining about things
I mean, he doesn't appear to consult haynes/alldata/any of that shit. Seems like he just problem solves/figures his way through repairs, like any intelligent human being would.
What did I miss? Is something going on with Eric?
He doesn't care about cars, just calls himself an "enthusiast" to be fashionable
Also trashed this guy's RX7, Porky didn't know how to close the hood
Chrisfix is a really nice dude, met him at the track before he got the Mustang
Who hates ChrisFix?
Scotty worshipers.
I don't know what's not to like. He is knowledgeable and makes very high quality videos.
I think the problem is that people bookmark the front page instead of the subscriptions page. I don't know how the main page is supposed to be laid out but it looks a mess after having a quick look. The subscriptions page shows you all the videos uploaded by the channels you subscribe to under the headings Today. Yesterday and This Week for everything uploaded the day before last.
I've always had the subscriptions page bookmarked so when the hole 'click the bell to be notified thing' started coming around I had no idea what was going on because all of the videos were being shown to me anyway.
Channels such as ScannerDanner and Schrodingers Box will live on.
I hadn't seen any of his videos til last week, not really interesting content to me but they are well made.
Here's what I don't understand about all the entrenched big channels whining about making enough money. They say their videos aren't being promoted enough, but obviously people are still watching videos, so what are people watching instead of them, content they don't even want to see? Obviously not. Look at Project Binky, are they successful because they upload 5 times a week? No. Do they constantly pop up in recommended vids? No. Yet as soon as their videos drop they get tons of views. Why? Because their content is great. If you make great content you will be successful, there's no way around it. So many channels build a subscriber base then start uploading nonsense every day, how can you be surprised this isn't going to last forever?
He's a rich kid. He doesn't have to work on his own cars.
He says YouTube is making it so he can't earn as much money.
It seems like the only way to make money on YouTube is having lets play fahhotry.
>Because their content is great.
I really think Eric's problem is the Project Fairmont series. It has dominated his offerings, and it's just getting boring. He posted two videos of more than a half hour apiece where he's just tinkering with his rear diff. His playlist for the Fairmont videos is up to 76. He says he has at least 20 to go. It's just too much.
The other problem is it's a Fairmont. It's interesting he's building a sleeper, but he would have gotten many more people interested if he worked on a recognizable car like a Mustang.
I don't mind the Fairmont project at all.
The motor is running 8lbs of boost, carb'd, 574hp, 625tq. That's substantially more than Fatt Marahs Mustang.
He's done nearly everything himself.
But you're right, a Mustang would've been more interesting.
>All his good videos are behind a paywall
>paywall
when the hell did t his happen?
but Chris doesn't drive a merc
his autism is a little too real for most people here.
those videos he did when he wouldn't show his face were cringe af.
I figured he was intoxicated
but literally every youtuber is having the same issue
Boosting a ohc 5.0 is neat. Swapping it into a Fairmont is kind of neat. The engine shop vids were pretty good.
Issues with cross members and fitting shit on the Fairmont is kind of boring. Especially considering few people are going to build up a Fairmont.
Good
Maybe they'll have to go get real skills and contribute to society instead of creating garbage that wastes millions of hours of the world's collected time every single hour of the day.
...
He has a freaky face that screams delinquent. Probably was into drugs in his younger days.
It's a surprise he's not in jail.
>I'm basing all this off his face and attitude in ETCG's SEMA videos
>literally every
This can't be true.
m.youtube.com
Want to watch a real technician at work? ETCG is a mid level tech at best.
> $5,000 toolbox made out of plastic filled with Chinese crap
>only does routine maintenance
>no cool tools
>real tech
>working on $1500 shitboxes at an independent
>repairs a variety of makes and models with driveability and intermittent issues
How much more of a tech can you be?
Not nearly as good as FordTechMakuloco
ahem, scannerdanner
Scanner Danner is a godsend. Helped me solve my lean code.
FordTechMakuloco has also helped me do a couple of things on my car.
>scannerdanner
>premium
is that because of youtubes decision to stop paying some people.
You idiot, Veeky Forums doesn't hate crisfix, they hate RegularCarReviews with his old farty, self-conversing, unfunny sass.
