We did SaMMIs (player controlled inserters) and it went really, really badly. It's not impossible but generally it just doesn't have a use in SS13.

Alien artifacts and alien combat is very "Work in Progress" and the 0.15 overhaul will improve the game a lot. It's something that has a very wacky difficulty curve. It starts off fine, becomes extremely challenging in the mid game, then entirely trivial in the late game.

And I agree, automatic robot arms wouldn't have much use in SS13 alone, but I feel like some more machines (item sorters, automatic packagers, and box opening machines that would open boxes that coincide with a swiped ID's access) would really do cargo some service.

Money gets more use, cargo can becomes an engineering-like job, miners can make their job less boring by designing ways to automate it, and we would have less "wood, carpet, AME" cargo "projects".

So, is deff mining hardmode or was I just unlucky a few rounds ago? There doesn't seem to be any easy diamonds like on box, and I think at least meta is lenient with their spawns on the main roid. I don't play miner often, so I can't really tell how likely diamonds are on the other maps.

the asteroid field on box has a higher rare ore count iirc, something deff doesn't have i think. i was also mining on deff, probably same rounds as you, and i noticed that when i found diamonds there would often be two next to eachother, or the unmarked rock around them would also drop diamonds. might just have been lucky though.

I'm talking more about just throwing down wood floors in the unloading area and putting an AME smack dab in the middle. Having the two separate is okay. I'd strive for something more creative than an AME, though.

Its not foul play to have friendships with people, but don't let that affect your in game decisions on buddying up with people or not. You are expected to know your co workers to some degree, after all.
