Take note of what a great zone Feralas is.
Great variety of mobs, great variety of quests, very memorable quests. There's something very nuanced going on, too: The quests and the mob placement have this breadcrumb pattern that is very well executed. You get a quest to kill spriters, after you kill a bunch of them you move further inside and notice the hostile tauren you probably didn't notice before because you had no reason to be there. You turn that quest in and surprisingly the followup to that quest has to do with you noticing the tauren.
You do a bunch of quests with gnolls that end up with you, discovering from a quest item, that they're fighting giant bugs to the south. You never went to the south of the gnolls before because you had no reason to, and once you go you actually find out holy shit, there is a giant fucking area of bug infested landscape and everything. You just didn't see it before.
It's very satisfying to play through it for the first time.

People complain about quests in Vanilla because there's no overarching storyline or quest progression (allegedly). If you pay attention, though, so many things are actually linked. Feralas is a good example, because since the Barrens, you've been seeing signs of the Silithid. You're working with Korran, and Belgrom Rockmaul (one of the best questgivers). Things are starting to sprout up that are Old God related -- Wailing Caverns, Blackfathom Deeps, the Bloodstones you get from the Forsaken traitors in Alterac (which are used to make the Bloodstone Amulets in Arathi by the Syndicate), Silithid in the Barrens, Thousand Needles, Feralas, and Tanaris/Un'goro etc.

I remember my guildleader said before MC was even cleared by any guild, the big raid in Vanilla was going to be an Old God, and he was right about that.

Even other than that, there are so many comfy questlines and stories. Sure, most of them are kill quests like Nesingwary, but you need those, too.
