I thought they changed her design because it was nonstandard. People already liked to bitch about how the Archie characters looked like "OC"s so the redesigns were meant to make them look more like characters within the Sonic game canon, following similar design principles. Full clothing for the females, little to no clothing for the males, shoes and gloves for mostly everyone.
I personally think Nu-Sally is much cuter though, in exchange for not being mostly naked.

Classicfag here. Probably as conservative on what sonic should be as they come.
I wish they would keep classic sonic out of the boost games going forward. Generations was fine as a one-time thing celebrating the franchise, but the classic pandering just seems out of place to me now.
Mania is already more popular than 2017 and is probably going to plant the seeds for the face of the franchise for the next while, so why not let the people that prefer the boost games enjoy them without constant references to the classic era? I just think if I was a boost-preferring person, it would probably piss me off.
The way I see it they now have the mania/classic 2D sprite games for the platforming/traditional audiance, so keep all the classic feeling there. Boost meanwhile should spend less time pandering to that previously mentioned audiance and instead spend more time perfecting and polishing it's playstyle and design imo.
Again I'm not a big fan of boost so I can't really speak for those people, but I can take a guess.

When you think about it, night into dream had a pretty fucking dark story.
The only way for night to defeat wizeman is to destroy him and ALL OF HIS CREATIONS. that includes night themselve. The jester cheerfullies goes on to what is basically a suicide mission by all means, and the boy knows it.

I'm really glad they're giving Eggrobos a more prominent role in Sonic Mania, i really liked them in S3&K but it's a shame they were just in Sky Sanctuary since they seemed like Eggman's elite goons.
