College Student Car Options

So I recently sold my car looking for something more reliable and better looking.

My budget is around $15000. I've found a 2016 Hyundai Sonata for ~$15k, it's gorgeous and all but I was thinking about going to an auction instead. See, I kinda wanna live life and get a camaro but I'm not too sure...

Anyone have experiences with car auctions? Or even camaros/the new sonatas? Curious about their value and reliability. Thanks

>Bringing a new car to college
>A new shitbox

Enjoy dings, stratches and the occasional keying of your car when you take someone's """"spot"""" in the lot lmao.

Why do you have $15k to spend on a car if you're in college?

And why would you bring a $15k car to college? You ever parked on campus before? It's packed to the fucking max with tight squeezes everywhere and people hitting your bumper not knowing how to parallel park and running off.

Unless you're trying to get some pussy out of it I don't know why you would bring a newer car to campus. Just take a fucking shitty subaru outback there and the college girls will be sucking your cock because everyone on campus seems to drive a sub.

A lot of auction cars are repos. You think that poor people letting their car get repod would also take care of their car?

Get something cheap and save the rest of the money for other shit.

Get an old pickup truck.

i know people say its a meme.

but you can legitimately buy an 8th generation Honda Civic Lx for around $3k-$5k.

buy a boring shitbox for college and when you get out then buy something fun.

I have a 15k budget
>I'm spending all of it

If I were you I'd spend maybe 5k tops on an old civic or something if you are just going to leave it parked on campus all day in a crowded lot all day.

Why do you "need" a brand new car when you will be poor in college for the next several years? Save up and use it on something you actually need.

Do you have any friends?

Get a beater. College isn't the time for a nice car unless you're foreign royalty trying to snag pussy with a Lambo or something. If it's a funcar get a cheap one.

Buy a 1998 camry and stick the other $13500 in the bank

You have to be a licensed dealer to go to most auctions

Get the camaro.

This is probably the best advice. You will get dings and all sorts of shit happening to your college car.
Another instance where "3k civic" is solid advice.

>Reliable
>Looks nice

God ur such a normie op. Anyways don't fall for the 3k civic meme. You will hate yourself for getting the most depressing car.

You said u have 15k, here is my advice. Life is too short to drive a boring car, no matter your budget you can have fun and still have a reliable daily, since College campuses can be rough for cars, I suggest doing this, get a $7000 or $8000 350z in good condition with around 70-80k miles, put the rest of your budget in savings or living expenses or backup repair money. It's a Nissan engine so don't worry about it blowing up randomly or $3000 repair bills, plus its a fast a fun car. And it's under budget.

Don't buy a shitbox, you will hate life, a car is something you will use everyday, get something that can get ur spirits up everyday that looks good and is fast, not a depressing shitbox.

But user Nissans are the definition of depressing shitboxes

Get a claptrap miata or something distinctly undepressing. You can impress your friends and not care about your beaterbox at the same time while enjoying life, and then buy something more expensive when you have the money and the boring adult life.

Yeah they are if you get an Altima or some shitty sentra.

Lets not forget Nissan makes the darling of Veeky Forums GTR and the 50z and 70z.

This is actually brilliant advice. So rare on this board.

Buy a 1k corolla and invest the rest in a hedgefund

Spend 6-8k on something used that you'd want to drive and save the rest for living expenses, repairs, and insurance. Don't go shitbox, you won't enjoy it and even if maintenance is cheap that's still a lot time without a vehicle. Most post 2000 cars that haven't been beat to shit should treat you well.

>suggesting a car with 2 seats as a DD for a college student
some people do have friends you know

>Friends
This guy. My next car would be a 1 seater if I could afford a demon.

this this this
also don't get a camaro

I got a wagon for this exact reason. Not that you have to be everybody's personal moving company bitch, but it's handy to have room to pack your friends in or haul stuff around as needed.

A Fjord Ranger.

>Sonata

Kys Nigger

Just did :)

>thinks 15k is a lot
>at least 3 dozen cars in the back of local uni's parking lot are 2017 BMWs and Benz
>even a lambo and a mazerati
>live in bumfuck nowhere town of 80,000 pop

those are the professors user

Shut up and buy a civic for 3k. Save your money for something more important.

>friends

I got rear ended by one of those things two weeks ago.
