With the shitfuck retarded pricing of the s2000s and sti's, it seems more and more that the 370z is much better bang for buck car for 20k, but can anyone on here give any testimonials to this? I still have my miata, which i plan to transform into a track slut, so im looking for something that is moddable, easy to work on, fun on corners for a daily driver, and is actually faster than a modern gen maxima/corolla.
With the s2k, its very easy to get it to a very reliable 350-400hp+ with a bolt on supercharger, but it seems like no one knows what the actual limits are on a 370z to be able to handle twins at 400-500hp

350z + cheapest bolt on turbo kit available running low (8-9lbs) boost = 350ishhp reliably for $12-14k excluding labor

>universally praised, treated as the magnum opus of modern affordable sports cars Have you ever been to Veeky Forums?

one obvious choice desu senpai
Hunter Rodriguez
He has $20k to spend on the car, not on "routine maintenance" (expected failures).
Noah Turner
Any E46 M3 you get for $20k is going to have over 100k miles and you're gonna be spending another $10k in maintenance on top of that within the next 5 years

S2000 is better in every way.

>spending all you have on a car expecting it to never go wrong poorfags are stupid.

>having to spend less on a used luxury car because more will go wrong
Yeah, they are.

and in a way, the one thing the s2000 will always have is that fucking early 2000s honda reliability. my original goal was to buy an late AP1 or early AP2 for 60k miles, and never fucking worry about it. only now im realizing that pipe dream isnt even achievable, since every fucking owner is jumping the gun and just increasing their prices, to the point where even rebuilt title cars are demanding 12-15 thousand and 100k miles AP1s go for 15 thousand
Michael Ramirez
GenC. Much cheaper because people still go >Muh Hyundai a shit, a SHIIIT Even though I'm the new decade they had a massive turn around which every 'car guy' seems to ignore. 370 still nice though but just have to shell out more for it and for me personally it's not worth it.
Jaxon Ramirez
>early 2000 reliability I dont know what this means. Reliability mostly depends on the way the previous owner drove the car and maintained it.
Liam Stewart
You would to build the entire valve train for boost anyway.
$730 for crower stage 2 cams and another $500 on crower springs and retainers to fix the god awful weak stock ones that like to drop at high R's.
Jace Anderson
Best bang for buck is a 07-08 350z. It has a vq35hr engine. Cheaper and lighter than a 370z. Bolt on and tunes will make it do 300whp

I would say 370z, and that's because the s2k is way over inflated atm. And the Z is a fair amount faster than the S2K out of the factory and it has a way nicer interior if u get the leather and nav and premium audio.
I mean, a 370z stock is already a 0-60 in 4.6-4.8 sec car and with sticky tires holds corners like a glove. A few bolt-ons and a tune can add even more power. With a FBO and Tune ur probably gonna be at 340whp up from around 275-280whp stock. (I'm not talking crank numbers, crank can be around 370-380 with FBO-tune)
Would def recommend the 370z over the S2K. It's newer, faster and still looks pretty cool.
Gavin Bell
370z go for more than comparable s2k's for sure...350z would be a more fair comparison. Also S2k's had leather standard. also consider all the plastic dash panels nissan loves to use.
That said, the s2k doesnt have all the gadgets and the audio is absolute shit
Sebastian Jones
buy an MR2
Zachary Gray
370z and s2k will shit on mr2.
James Myers
The 350 and 370 are a Japanese take on grand tourers, not balls to the wall sports cars. People often forget that is the whole point of the Z line.
Jose Turner
I second this. The hr engine feels great and they fixed many different issues by 07 and 08. Find a nismo and you won't regret it, they look better then the 370z too.
Julian Williams
>slower and older chassis than 370z
y tho?
Joshua Hernandez
Lmao those are slow as fuck.
Jose Martin
the best thing to do with the s2k audio is rip it out and just use earbuds. makes the long highway trips nicer too. and while you're at it, gut the useless trunk and get a lightweight exhaust, and you've shaved off 100lbs without any effort at all. then tear the a/c out because there's no point in having a shitty a/c system in a fucking convertible
