He's apparently badass and shit (being Saren's lieutenant and all) and has better armor and weapons than she does, so instead of directly fighting him she uses a datapad recording to bait him into an incinerator, then hacks the door shut and activates it.

The point is that the art of these comics is fucking terrible and that even tumblr-tier drawing is better than the official product.

The companion weapons scale up in damage according to player level. Ian said players would be able to craft a weapon similar to PeeBee's revolver. I assume that would also include variants of Jaal and Vetra's armaments.
