Assuming the 53 Junkos thing is true, I think this is why:

One thing we can reasonably hold to be true for now is that all the previous seasons would end with a showdown between hope and despair, and the other thing most likely to be true is that both options are fake in the sense that the killing game goes on to the next season no matter what.

Essentially this formula is needed because Dangan Ronpa has been twisted into 'A battle between hope and despair' and people don't seem to notice at all that pitting high school students to fight against one another in a rigged reality TV series is the furthest thing away from what the actual Dangan Ronpa was about. Junko is necessary to maintain the illusion of this battle as is Naegi, but the awful truth is that even they may have been forced into such roles.

Heh, that really does make one think. Be careful of what the game tells you and also what isn't being said, think about whether what is being said is the truth than blindly accepting the truth.

No, the main thing anyone should be taking away from this Dangan Ronpa is that it's a lie. This so-called message of hope winning over despair is a carefully manipulated 'truth' designed to win over the masses and to placate them into thinking the match was fair and square, when in reality the smart and dangerous ones were cut down one by one to the point the final survivors would be rendered helpless to choose anything but hope or despair.
