You got to mod it. That engine is a gutless 1.6l with like 110hp stock. Its exceptionally well suited for tuning and upgrades though. It loves to rev and its naturally peaky.

Civics are riced out and modded because of the glorious suspension. You obviously haven't noticed. You can carve canyon roads and turn as quick as a motorcycle. Its a shitty econony car with amazing suspension. Also it has a very short throw shifting behavior stock, compared to cars cars.
Its also lightweight and cheap with abundant aftermarket.
